Aloe Vera Gel! Put it in the refrigerator and also get her covered when she is in the sun, for at least three days or so. Also, constant sunscreen.
From past experiance with bad sunburns, this really helped a lot.
Hope this works for you.

Products by Aveeno are good for the bath, but if you live in the US there is some stuff called Ocean Potion that is brilliant. Its much stronger than any of the other products over the counter. Its a cooling gel with lidocaine in it to stop the pain. Apart from that just a really good moisturizer. Only time will help. As for the flight, to help keep her cool you might get one of those little cans of water that you mist yourself with. Sorry thats all I can think of!

Best of luck and have a great holiday!

Learn from her experience....over dosing on 'sunbeds' and getting UV burns wasn't sensible....

buy her some fake tan - or get a spray tan next time - that way it can wear off as she gets the real one...

Apply a ton of moisturisers & stay out of the sun....kinda defeats the purpose of going to sunny Italy

Natural Yoghurt is very good for cooling down the skin and does not leave a lingering smell.

If it is very hot then place cold wet towels over the area first.

Just make sure she drinks plenty to prevent dehydration. The burns should calm before you go away.

Hope she gets better soon and enjoy your holiday.

How bad? If it just red, Aloe or Aloe with lidocane and over the counter pain relief. If it 2nd or 3rd degree (blistered or bleeding) go to a hospital E.R. right away.
Good Luck

Depending on how bad the sunburn is, there are several things your daughter can do. I recommend using aloe and/or vitamin E gels and lotions to soothe the pain and heal the burn. If her burn is severe, with blistering and excessive fatigue, she should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

If she has blisters she needs medical attention. Otherwise, aloe vera gel chilled in the fridge and aspirin or paracetemol to help with pain. Keep covered on holiday or it will get worse. next time, suggest fake tan.

Apply moisturiser 3 times a day.

When she gets to Italy, cover her in suntan lotion, give her long, loose-fitting clothes to wear and make sure she puts on a hat.
