coldmugrootbeer, unless you're German, you should have paid more attention yourself.

I really like when they capitalise the whole word: And the LORD spoke, and the LORD said 'let there be light', and the LORD did a whole bunch of other stuff besides... I think it's where the caps-lock trolls get their inspiration, and it reminds me of Tourette's Syndrome somehow...

No disrespect to sufferers, by the way.

It looks like it ought to be an acronym - for example, 'Law and Order Retribution Dispenser' or 'Lying Obtuse Raving Deity' or something.

But maybe that's just me...

In correct grammar you capitalize all names God is a name. Hitler with a lower case h is just as incorrect.

Remember to be respected you must show respect.

Some people didn't pay attention in English class. The word God is a noun.

As a noun, we are supposed to capitalize the name of a person, place or thing.

Capitalizing it, makes it appear to be a proper name, and those should be capitalized...however, it's actually a title (like a job title), not a name so lower case is more appropriate...I believe the mythological diety's name (at least in one language) is Jehovah, and capitalizing that is proper.

We are taught in school, regardless of our religion, to capitalize important words such as names and places. God is the supreme person - if you want to look at it in a spiritual way. But if you look at it in it's simplest form, you capitalize his name just as you would your own - he is important!

Nobody knows the name of god/God. Nobody even knows if there is a god/God. It's all wild speculation and dogmatic belief. Pleae yourself.
