If you are not in shape before you go, they will make sure you are in shape. You are going to do alot of running, and if you are not used to it, it is going to hurt like h3ll. Your first few day to two weeks that you are there is called your P-days, and during that time you will run a preliminary PRT (or they might call it FEP now), that is the mile and a half run, sit ups and push ups. If you do not pass this PRT you will be put into a new division (leaving behind all the people you go to know during your P-days) and all you will do is exercise all day until you can pass the PRT, which you will attempt once a week. Once you pass, you go to a new division that just got out of P-days. If you do not pass, they usually will send you on anyway, but then you will have to pass another PRT in a few weeks, and if you don't, then you get to try one more time, and if you can't do it then, you go back another division. Basically all you do is hurt yourself and prolong the amount of time you are in bootcamp, which is not really hard, but it is not fun either.

So, do yourself a favor and get in the best shape you can before you go to boot camp.

At least try to some what prepare yourself for what you're about to face. Try doing some treadmill time just to get used to running. Also if you want see if you can hire a trainer and explain to them about what you're going to be doing this way they can help you do some miltary type conditioning.
Try at least the basics like situps and pushups etc.
Again you don't have to do many, but at least if you did some you won't shock your body as much when the bootcamp time comes.
As for the cycle, lots of pamperin! Thats the only reliver that seems to work!
Good Luck at camp!

Navy bootcamp is cake. Its starts slow, so if you are not in shape you will be before it gets really intensive (not that it gets that intensive, its the navy not the marines). Here warning: you will be azz naked in front of a few hundred or so other dudes within minutes of getting off the bus. Also, you will be up the entire night.

It will be horrible if you don't at least try to get into shape, mainly focus on push-ups, sit-ups, and running. I think you'll have to pass a PFT (Physical Fitness Test) somewhere along the line too, I know about the Air Force, but not too much about the Navy, hope that helps

Ah congratulations! I did the same thing many years ago. Are you going to Florida? No, you'll get in shape in no time. During boot camp, you may not have a cycle. A few girls in my unit didn't, but mine came pretty much on time. Just go with it, and thank you for choosing to serve our lovely country.

I went through Army Basic training. If you are not up to par for your Physical Fitness test, they will put you through hell to make damn sure you are good to go for the last PT test they give you before graduation. If you don't pass that last test, they will "Recycle you" and make you go to the fat house and do nothing but train until you CAN pass the PT test. I don't know what the Navy's standards are, or for women for that matter. Just make sure you can RUN RUN RUN, they LOVE to run. and they LOVE push-ups. Just try to get ready for it. Run as much as possible. Just a steady jogging pace for a mile or two will get you started. Good luck with you time in the Military, I'm proud of you. :)

well i would start a small exercise regiment to start on your PT physical training, as for your cycle, you can buy the equipment needed for that at the PX post exchange- store. and yes you will have to do your everyday stuff with or without your cycle, the military does not stop for your cycle. it is just another challenge to handle while in training, i know you can handle it, i did.

good luck with the Navy and thank you in-advance for protecting our country.

It will help to get into shape, but they will still work you out. About your cycle, they take that into account when you are there.

I don't think the Navy is that much into physical fitness, if you can run a mile or so you are good.
