I know MANY people that insist on eating healthy, mainly vegetarian, and they are still fat. What's the deal? Guesss it doesn't really work then.

Its because saying and doing are two different things! Not all people practice what they preach.

Sometimes people need a liver cleanse. Everyone's metabolism is very different. Also eating healthy doesn't necessarily mean they are sticking to a diet. It's hard to keep from cheating. Most of us are doing well just to get 5 or 6 servings of fruit or vegetables a day, which would be considered reasonably healthy. Like other answerers said, it often depends on genes, as well.

No, it DOES work, but it takes awhile. If you knew a normal guy, and watched him grow up and get fat, you know he didn't get fat overnight. The same way with losing weight. It's unhealthy to lose weight real fast. Best way is to loose it slow but steady.

Yes, I see 'fat' people eating good sometimes, but either they're pigging out at other times, enjoying a donute or piece of cake later, or they just have a horribly slow metabolism. I eat right most of the time, and I'm light! Almost too light.

Diet and exercise can't make one's face and personality more attractive. And *anyone* with poor eating habits, vegetarian or not, can be fat. Chances are their 'mainly vegetarian' is lots of cheese pizza, filet o fish, Chinese chicken salad with a ton of dressing, and chicken McNuggets.

Why do people that been to school and read books are still asking mindless questions and expecting answers? I know MANY people that insist on asking questions, can google on their PC and are still dumb. What's the deal? Guess they can't really get smarter then.

Besides the medical issues, I think the real question is "Why do you choose to see overweight people as unattractive".

You can diet and exercise all you want but, there's no running away from the genes that you are dealt.
