Mera Jaan means my life or sweetheart. Its what I call my significant other.

It means "life" and is also used as a term of endearment to someone you're in a long-term relationship with.
I call my fiance "Jaan." It's used like "Honey/sweetheart/babe", but has so much more of a deeper meaning to it. Like "You (to me) are Life."

Umm, I don't think your talking about hindi...probably Urdu. Alot of indians speak Urdu, as do Pakistani. I don't know many Hindu's that speak hindi. Well, if this is what your talkinga bout, then it means sweetheart, mostly. It can also mean life. Hope this helped!
