I think it was Jerry Falwell that said "Christians god sent his son to die for them Muslims god wants you to send your son to die for him"

They are surprisingly similar. The main difference is that Islam believes that Mohamed and Jesus were just prophets, while Christianity believes he was God. There is also a difference in that Christianity grew in a culture of outcasts, where Islam grew within the privileged classes. This had great effects on the overall tone of the dogma.
As to the hatred and violence, much of it has nothing to with religion, but rather with historical feuds, and attempts to gain or control resources like oil and water.

They are basically the same. Islam is more democratic and gives a more detailed guide to life. Christianity's principles are more generals, so the morals are more flexible (in a good sense).
Wars and terrorism are not based on religion. People do those things only in the name of it. It's a shame.

Christianity is the largest religion in the world. Islam is the second largest.

Christianity is divided into Catholic, Protestant, & Orthodox, & even smaller divisions within the afore-mentioned denominations. Islam is divided into Sunni & Shiite, within even smaller divisions within these two afore-mentioned sects.

The Sacred Scripture of Christianity is the Bible. The Sacred Scripture of Islam is the Koran.

The Christian Sabbath Day is Sunday. The Muslim Sabbath Day is Friday.

Christians worship in Churches. Muslims worship in Mosques.

Although we Christians believe that God Is a Trinity(Father, Son, & Holy Spirit), we still believe in One God, nonetheless. Therefore, we are monotheistic.

Islam is also monotheistic, however, it does not believe that there is any more than 1 Person in the 1 God.

Both Christianity & Islam are Abrahamic faiths; that is, we both recognize the Patriarch Abraham as our father in faith.

Christians worship Jesus, as the Incarnate Son Of God, & the Messiah. Muslims venerate Jesus as the Messiah, but, do not believe Him to be an Incarnation Of God, nor His Son.

Although Muslims venerate Jesus. They do not believe Him to be the Last nor Greatest of all the Prophets Sent By God. They believe that Muhammed is the last & greatest of all the Prophets Of God.

Interestingly, there is one key similarity.

These are the only two religions in the world which claim that NOT believing can result in eternal damnation of the soul. As far as I have ever read or heard, no other faith condemns the soul eternally.

The difference comes in determining whether or not Jesus was actually God.

In an amusing twist of irony, Jews and Muslims agree that Christians are way off base when claiming Jesus to be God.

Islam worships Allah, a god whom they state does not begat, nor was begotten. Islam denies the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Islam does not believe that salvation is through faith in Christ alone. Islam believes Jesus was merely one of God's prophets, not even as important as Mohammed.

Christianity is based on the person of Jesus Christ, that all things were made by, for and through Him. Christians believe, as Jesus stated, that there is no other way to the Father than through the son.

Islam tries to convince the world that Allah is the same God as the God Christians worship. That is not so. If Allah were the God of the bible, He would have a son, Jesus, who died on a cross, rose again, and is the only way to salvation.

It's very important not to confuse the god of Islam with the God of the bible.

do you mean trintians vs. Islam?

because Christianity is something completely different than Trinitians religion.

it's all came from one source, Allah. the one who sent Abraham the father of all the prophets, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad.

hate comes because many people have in mind that the other side is the evil one.

Christianity compares to Islam the same way Cow Manure compares to Horse Manure. If your sitting in front a bowl of either with a spoon in your hand and a gun to your head, does it really matter?

I as a Catholic Christian do not agree with what Islam teaches about Christ, Christianity, or God. I do not however now that much about it yet except what it says on those subjects. I could never commit to it on that basis. Other than that I can not say.

Actually, Islam is closer to Judaism, since they both believe in just one person of God (God the Father) and don't accept Jesus as the son of God. Mohammed never said he was God, only a prophet. But Jesus claimed to be God and was killed as a blasphemer. That is the major difference.

Islam believes in one God, indivisible, unchanging, non-begetting, single, unique God, Christianity also believes in one God but their view is poluted by the Doctirne of Trinity which is paganistic in nature. You should take a hint from Judaism that came before Christianity and championed the belief in one God also.
