Hi Tinker:
The meds the doc. gave you will take a day or two to kick in.....
But keep her quiet, warm and read her a few books....
luv
Ava
p.s. as the above person mentioned, diary could be a problem for your child. If they keep getting sore ears, and have mucus coming out of their nose alot, well they have mucus because of dairy products. Not good and they get colds lots.
I took all my 4 daughters off milk when they were little and they are all grown up now and still have not had dairy products. None have had a cold for 10 years!!! They drink rice milk and got used to it right away, because they had no other option as I was the mom.
A thought anyway. Please do not, do not pour any liquids into her ear--you could cause her to go deaf!!! never, never, never.

Sorry to say besides the tylenol and maybe some cold or warm drinks, there isn't much that can be done. I can't believe the doctor didn't give you drops to put in the ears. They are like an anti-inflamatory or something that works really for easing the swelling and pain until the antibiotic can kick in and do the trick. I know how frustrating and helpless having a sick kid can be, all I can say is good luck!

grapefruit seed extract is great. I recommend the liquid, since she's too little to take pills. Also, hydrogen peroxide:
have her lay on her side. Pour a small amount (less than half a lid-full) of hydrogen peroxide in her ear. It will tickle her a little and feel cold, but shouldn't hurt at all. Let it sit for about a minute, then repeat on the other ear.
You can do that several times a day.

Bless her little heart. Here are 2 ear remedies that I have used before on a child:
1) mix white vinegar and rubbing alcohol, put a few drops in ear and plug with cotton. (this works GREAT for swimmers ear)
2) Egyptian earwax candles....can be purchased at almost any health food store...just depends how still she can be.
throat:
1)chloraseptic spray
2) gargle warm salt water (if she's 2 that might be difficult to accomplish)
the remedies might not work for your little girl, but they might be worth a try. I really hope that she is back to normal soon!
