How can scientoligy be called a religion? It was invented just recently by an author of fiction! It's like Stephen King suddenly decided to make a new religion and people actually follow! Religions are based on faith, and the belief in a higher being. At best, scientoligy should be called a "way of life". I heard there are so many rules even regarding the food babies should eat (they feed them honey, which can cause botulism in infants!) and what is the crap about not speaking to your baby for 2 weeks after birth? After hearing the mothers voice while in womb, won't the baby freak out if it can't be comforted by it's own mother? It's not like the baby can "recognize" the mom by her face! Why do people adhere to a "religion" that has no basis on faith OR fact?

Actually if Stephen King started a church of the "Thrillers"
to many people would join and it would no longer be a joke.
But , yes, the so called creator of scientology was in actuality a huge believer of self, and using counseling to heal the self.
He never meant it to be a religion, per se, but some of his followers decided it should be and they set up the starts of it,
When Hubbard saw that what they were doing was profitable, he joined in wholehearedly and never looked back.

What is scientoligy ? A version of scientology ? The multiple of it ?
You're one dense person. Scientology is as valid as any other religion out there. It's based on fiction and belief. Almost all religions have certain rules regarding food (hell, I remember when Friday was Fish day). What's with the "crap" of cutting the skin of a baby's penis for example ? How about dunking a helpless child in water ?
Giving wine to minors ? Kosher food ? Holy cows ? Stoning people to death ? putting your carpet on the floor and 5 times a day wasting your employer's time ? Don't you think that a spaceship comes from "higher up" ?

Its ignorance.
People want rules and directions to live by, and they will go to insane lengths to get ahold of a set.
Scientology was created by L. Ron Hubbard, a science fiction author. Not Stephen King.
And it goes farther than insane rules. They believe that we came from aliens, and anyone who accepts this becomes 'enlightened'. They say all of the great religious figures from other religions were really these enlightened ones or aliens themselves.
I can't explain why people want to believe this stuff. Likewise, i can explain why its so popular in hollywood.

Religion is actually a set of rules to follow; it can exist quite apart from theology, which is the belief in a higher being.
Lots of people have gotten these two confused.
Of course, scientology is a load of crap, regardless of what it's classified as.

I'm not a Scientologist but am familiar with the teachings and the beliefs you state are ttoally incorrect, no doubt because you preface them with "I heard". Do a little research.
It's no more weird than any other religion. Try reading the Jewish law in the Old Testament.

They won a case against the IRS (figure that one out, few people win against the IRS in court), therefore the IRS now is FORCED to acknoweldge this, but they call it a relgion founded in 1951, they refuse to name it!
And does this mean Tom Cruise pays no income taxes, possibly!

A cult from beginning to end. L. Ron Hubbard used to keep himself adrift at sea for months at a time. What was he hiding from if he knew the truth?
