IT MEANS THAT IT CAN BURN in 11 formats(now that's ******), a DVD(Digital Versatile Disc) burner can only burn 4 types of DVD'S(not including the CD-ROMS).. DVDR+,DVDR-,DVDRW+,DVD-RW-, AND THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHER ONES, LIKE DVD-RV, and stuff like thta, but them don't usually play on DVD's.. so I suggest using the above four..it also depends, on the type of dsc you use..

It means that the DVD Burner can burn up to 11 formats of Video.

dvd burners are not unlimited storage.
the 11 formats is im guss the type of movie files that can be put onto a dvd eg, avi, mpg, mpeg1, etc..
the new dvd drives that are out is called bluewrite, that can 50gb per disc. compared to 8.4gb
