What is the best way to prevent your license plates from being stolen (or at least slow down the removal process); Thanks for any help.

As you assumed a theif can be slowed but not stopped if they're determined.Consider steel rivets.Or you can put in tamper resistant torx bolts(check your local Napa or Fastener store).If you use the torx,you can buy the tools to remove them for plate replacement next year.The rivets will require a drill or hammer and chisel!

You could strip out the screw heads... Someone who is planning on stealing them may have only brought screwdrivers. Or you could put your plate in the rear window, visible to the rear.

If a thief is determined to steal something nothing will stop them...only was is to catch them in the act.
