For everyone who is asking where it says that... the bible does indeed say "hate" our family - but hating them is not what Jesus was saying.
He says, for example, in Matt 5 that hating someone is the same as murdering them in God's eyes. So, Jesus is clearly not saying we must hate them.
What another poster wrote is exactly right:
The Bible does not say that we have to hate our families, it says that we must be willing to sacrifice anything to do God's will even if that means leaving the ones we love to pursue whatever it is we are supposed to pursue. The Apostles for example, had to leave their families in order to follow Jesus. We must be willing to do the same.

The Bible doesn't tell you to hate your family. I think you misinterpreted something that you have read somewhere but not in the Bible.

The bible does not ask us to hate our family, unless you want to be a disciple of Jesus.
Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

I don't recall anywhere where it says to hate our family. "It tells us to love your neighbor as yourself" and also "he that is at enimity with a friend is at enmity w/ God." Having no natural love is a sign of the end of the last days.
