Luckily for us, it doesn't take seven to ten years (as lots of myths have it). In fact, our stomach doesn't digest gum at all! Since it's made out of soluble fiber, chewing gum passes right through us. So gum comes out with the rest of your waste, usually a day or two after you eat it. Although you shouldn't swallow chewing gum, it is not considered harmful.

Actually by the nature of gum resin, it doesn't "digest" meaning our body doesn't do a very good job of breaking it up into smaller molecules and using it for fuel or nutrients.

It more or less will move through the digestive track un changed in regular time along with other food in about 6 hours.

Considering that the stomach has to completely renew it's lining every two weeks or it eats itself then I'd say not long at all.
