First, put a liner on their bed, you can either use a cheap shower curtain or buy a nice moister proof liner (curtain is cheap but will not be as cozy as the more expensive liner). These will save your mattress, one there is urine in the mattress, the smell will never come out. As for the P.J's wash them right away or atleast rinse them out. If your child wakes up in the middle of the night, change them into dry clothes and put their P.J's in water to soak (bathroom sink or tub works fine) until morning.

Also, understand that this is a natural part of growing up to a certain point. If you are concerned, speak to your childs doctor but if your child is still young and you don't see a problem, try Pull-ups or plastic pants that go over their underwear. My boys wouldn't wear either, hence the waterproof sheet and I started putting them to bed in just a T-shirt.

Good Luck!

if you think that the wash smells you should run it empty with a little bit of laundry soap. The sheets and her pj's pre soak then wash heavy. The mattress all you can really do is pick a deodorizer of your choice and spray the bed. If you need suggestions on how to get your child to go at night, try getting them up 2 times a night and put them on the potty. It's a pain but it works I just got my son to stay dry all night by doing it.

For items that fit in your washer (pajamas, sheets, etc.) I suggest white vinegar. Use it as you would bleach in addition to your regular detergent. For the mattress (and really, that's the big problem, isn't it?), sprinkle the affected (damp) areas with Borax & allow to dry. Vaccum off & it should help quite a bit. You will also want to invest in a rubber or plastic mattress cover to go under your child's fitted sheet. Honestly, though, once a mattress has been soaked through & the insides have gotten wet, it's pretty much a lost cause. Wait to get a new one after your child no longer wets the bed, though, b/c you don't want to be changing mattresses as often as you change sheets.

The smell will come out of the laundry with regular detergent. As for the bedding your best bet is to take it to laundry mat and wash it there, the tubs are bigger and can clean better. For the mattress, well it wont come out, but throw a plastic mattress cover on it so future bed wettings wont ruin it.
