Where do you people get this stuff???? I'm astounded by how ignorant the public is sometimes about science. Science doesn't claim to know "everything" nor does any legitimate scientist. Read an understand.....

You might say the opposite is true of science. It claims to know NOTHING unless it is verifiable by a rigorous methodology, and is prepared to let go any knowledge that it later finds to be inaccurate.

In defense of theists, since they've been attracted here without provocation-- many of us fully admit-- we don't KNOW anything either-- we *believe*. Otherwise, there'd be no such thing as faith.

I don't know any scientists, personally, that "know" everything. While I am friends and acquaintences with quite a few people in the scientific field, they are also very humble people. They are all dedicated to the scientific method and in doing the research they do. None of them would ever say they know everything. Many of them often show great humility whenever I even comment on how much they happen to know about a particular subject (they can usually name atleast two or three others who, apparently, know more than them).

And I know they don't know everything because often times they are inquisitive about my religion. As one of my friends says "I am the eternal student of the universe around me."

If you know any scientists who claim to know everything let me know, I'd be very curious about them.

Of course, now that I think about it, I don't know anyone who knows everything. Even I don't know everything. Gee, imagine the burden of knowing everything!!!

No, by definition, scientists do not know anything. Scientists use empirical methods (i.e. experimentation) to ANSWER questions. Why would someone become a scientist, which requires becoming trained in the art of empiricism, if he/she already knows everything? Sounds like a waste of time to me.

No, no scientist in the world knows everything. If they did, they would be unemployed, wouldn't they? Because they learn about stuff for a living.

No, Science doesn't claim to know everything or have answers to all questons which is why the concept of God still exists today...Conceptually, God (if there is one) exists to continue answering the questions that Science can't like: Why are we here? or Why do I exist? As these particular questions will never be adequately explained by science God will continue to exist for some people. PEACE!

No, this is why scientists are always researching.

If you want to get really technical, it's impossible to know anything because you only perceive things through your five senses and these can be manipulated.

Only Christian "scientists." (not to be confused with the cult by that name)

Michael Behe, William Dembski, and Stephen C. Meyer, et al

No. But at least they're still trying.

Once every question in the Universe has been answered, there will be nothing left for God to get credit for (but this may take a while)
