Suicide bombing (i am in no way agreeing with such methods) by the palestinians are reported almost daily in the media whereas ISRAELI acts of violence are hushed up.
One must ask the question, what leads a man to blowing himself up? The wife of Tony Blair, Cherie was critised for her comments when she said it was understandable that the palestiinians blew themselves up when they had no hope. A desperate man is a dangerous one.

Because suicide bombings include the death of the perpetrator, whereas the modern world is used to seeing military action, military action is less news to us. The world is more appalled to see how a fanatic will blow him or herself up because of they way they look down on suicide. They are even more shocked to see people praising the suicide assassin's families say they are heroes. It's just more weird for them to see that to a military strike.
BTW, Timo, great answer!

I think this is due to the fact that:

(1) the US supports Israel and so its press does not cast them in a bad light (for example, see news on Saudi Arabia... and then look at news on Iran)

(2) the richer countries and people run the media;

(3) spin doctors tailor the story as they know what their paymasters want.

I used to think that the arabs were all terrorists until i visited Israel some years back. I had Jewish friends and Arab friends (Greek Orthodox christians) but they would not meet let alone speak to each other.

From personal experience, I found the arabs (went all round, West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Syria etc) were very hospitable and nice people. Cannot say the same for the Jews I met there, especially those in the old quarter in Jerusalem who tried to cheat me at every turn. Being Asian, both knew that I was not involved in their politics (I look neither jewish or muslim) and so I think I had a rather clear look for myself. I am not taking sides but I enjoyed my stay with the arabs more.

I don't think that the massacres go unnoticed, its just that other countries do no care enough to stop it.

It really is a shame. Oppression is certainly a crime against humanity. Palestinians are also not blameless. Both sides have committed attrocious crimes against each other, but unfortunately the world would rather not react due to the volatility of those nations.

It's all about politics. For some reason, it is bad form to say Israel is in the wrong. They start screaming about anti-Semitism. But it's ok to say Palestine is wrong. Mrs. Blair was correct, just not politic in her comments.

What I find more interesting is that the word anti-Semitic has undergone a change in meaning over the millennia. Semitic refers to a language family, not a specific people. 'Anti' didn't mean 'against', it meant 'no' or 'non.' To be anti-Semitic was to be not of a Semitic speaking people. Arabic is a Semitic language. Isn't that hysterical?

Buy your question and comments, are you suggesting you support the attack on the world trade center? They blew themselves up too along with many others. What have we done to them. Think before asking these questions.

Israel's actions are justified...what would you do if someone tried to take that belongs to you?? I would fight back...
Second of they do not only blow themselves up, they take the innnocent as well. They are not going to get what was promised to the Jew by God. They kill because they are decived and because they lack hope and love, God love....

You are 100% right. Israel commits the worse war crimes with the support of the US against unarmed civilians, and then they are surprised why there are suicide bombers.
