I'm really disturbed how many people are so clueless about the term antichrist. The word antichrist is only use 4 times in the Bible in the 1st and 2nd Epistle of John. To be exact the word appears in 1 John 2:18, 1 John 2:22, 1 John 4:3 and 2 John 7. John clearly states in each verse that an antichrist is anyone who does not believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, as the son of God.

There have been antichrist since the day of Jesus' birth, and obviously many on this board. Anyone who is not a Christian is an antichrist. The word antichrist is NEVER mentioned in the book of Reveolation. There is no "coming" of the antichrist, the antichrist is NOT satan. Antichrist are all around us in the flesh and blood.

Who told so many of you any different? (I read repeatly incorrect answers in regards to this topic) How could you just start spreading untruths without first reading the Bible and finding this out for yourself?

Sorry "KITTEN" and "Momof3", that is incorrect, and kitten I am not ignorant. The beast is not called the Antichrist in any scripture. Reread Revelations...read several versions. The beast is never referred to as "The antichrist". Ask your Ministers, Preachers or Priest. You are simply incorrect, and it is really causing a lot of confussion on this Q &A

OK- First of all - The Antichrist has not come. The Antichrist is someone who will come and do works in Gods name claiming he is God. This will happen during the tribulation.
Antichrist does not mean - ANTI- Christ as meaning no God- anti meaning they are against it- the Antichrist will claim to be God and will do things so people will believe he is God! Get your facts straight before you go accusing everyone else of being wrong and you being right. Read Revelations and you will get a better understanding of who the Antichrist is and what he will be doing during that time. He is also called the Beast.

revelation talks about an anti prophet and the beast that is babylon that leads the way to the tribulation. just because someone uses a different term, it does not mean they are not the same way. john uses different language. it is true that those that oppose christ are anit christs, but there is an ultimate evil, satan, and his prime servant. people have thought they were living in the end of days since jesus ushered in the new testament.

yes, there are many antichrist, but there is clearly one main one, "the man of perdition". He's the one tht will lead humanity for 7 yrs of the tribulation offering a false peace. He will be killed by a wound in the head & then healed indwelt by the devil himself. He will perform miracles further duping humanity. Some Christians believe he will appear before Christ returns.

Anti-Christ can be an adjective, yes.
In Revelations, it is also used to describe "the Man of Sin" who will "deceive millions" during the Tribulation. He will be of Middle Eastern descent and will convince people to take the Mark. The Anti-Christ's number is 666.
I have taken numerous Bible Prophecy courses.
You are completely ignorant of this subject.

Probably because of the book of Revelation, chapter 13 to be more precise. It's the beast that is supposed to come to power. It is true that he is not called "the antichrist" but considering he will call himself christ yet he is not. To me, it's just easier to label him "The Antichrist" so it'll be easier to comprehend than calling him "The Beast"

Agreed to a point.. However, prophecy predicts the coming of a specific individual,m that will accomplish many things at a global level.. This "other" Christ, will set into motion the last days.

...because they have accepted the Gospel of Hal Lindsey.

Although the ideas existed, no-one was talking about raptures and anti-christs, beasts, and all that crap until he wrote The Late Great Planet Earth.

Thank you for clearing this up. So, in essence, if you are "anti-christ", you are an antichrist. Good observation.
