The good Lord took the time to carve ten commandments on two tables and give them to Moses. If homosexuality is such a big sin why isn't it listed among the top 10?

Okay - just like I thought no one knows for sure.

There are plenty of things considered sins, that were not specifically alluded to in the Ten Commandments. The Bible is very clear on homosexuality though. It's not only a sin, it's an abomination. I am no Christian, but I find it sickening that people try and make Christianity out to be some touchy-feeley love fest. You can't ignore the book. It's in there. Homosexuals are supposed to be killed. Again, I'm not endorsing this, and I believe in legal protection for homosexuals against this type of stupidity, but, the Bible is clear on this matter.

I'm not going to argue one way or the other on homosexuality. I'm not, so I don't worry about it- that's between that individual and God.

I would, however, say that the 10 Commandments were given at a time of unrest as standards for human living, and are a good basis for that. What Jesus taught in the new testament in no way defies those things, but teaches of things spiritual beyond just rules and regulations. I would suggest that the basis for anything Christian should be based then on the things that Jesus taught as well, rather than just one set of commandments at one point in time.

Apparently you have not read Leviticus 18:22 or Romans 1:24-27, or 2nd Peter 2:6-9, or the book ofJude. What gives you the idea that there are no commandments against it?
It's better to not make statements you can't prove. Makes you look foolish.

The Bible says that it is an abomination to the lord for a man to have sex with a man or a woman with a woman; just because it isn't among the Ten Commandments doesn't make it any less true.

Its an abomination to God. There are 7 other abominations listed.

16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (KJV)

Commandments were things we should do, sins are things we should not do, hence the diffrence.

Lev 18:22-23 "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev 20:13 "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death."

1 Cor 6:9 "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind (homosexuals)"

Rom 1:26-27 "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error."

There might not be a commandment against homosexuality, but the bible makes it clear what God thinks about it.

It IS opne of the "big 10"!!!
Read Exudos 20...it's Commandement #7---

But all sins are equal...sin is sin is sin. So yes, homosexuality and stealing a candy bar and telling a lie and not going to church are all the same is God's eye---WRONG!

Teh best way to think about it is..if God wouldn't do it then you shouldn't either.

There are so many sins that are huge. There would be more than two tablets if the good Lord put them all down. Homosexuality is bigger than ever now so its seems to be a huge sin. A sin is a sin regardless.

Although it's not part of the ten, God made sure to include it in His law. " If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination:" (Leviticus 20:13) That does not make it a lesser sin, both sins committed against the ten commandments and sins committed against the law can throw you in hell just as quickly.
