Do other animals have appendixes (and can they get appendicitis?) If it's vestigal in humans, as some researchers think, does it have an analog elsewhere?

Many mammals have appendixes. It's especially large in plant eating animals where it serves to harbor bacteria which support the decomposition of cellulose. I know from cats and dogs that they can get appendicitis.
