Jesus wasn't popular. I mean, take a look at what they did to him, crucifixion was a horrible way to die...but he did it for you and I.
When someone is open to the Gospel of Jesus, I share. Otherwise, it falls on deaf ears...
Sometimes the best witness is when you live the Christian life. You not only talk the talk...but you walk the walk. Allow Jesus' light to show through you. Love God with all your heart, soul and mind...and the second greatest commandment is love one another as he (Jesus) loved us.
Knowing the truth (God's word-Holy Bible) is important. How can you rebuke a lie if you don't know the truth?
I think it's a good idea to study other "religions and cults." So you will know the lies from the truth.

I don't think too many Wiccans claim to be Christian or teach Christ's word. So I would say it is not technically a false teaching...it's just not the Christian teaching. As long as they don't go around saying I am a Wiccan Christian then the 2 are not connected.
If you are studying someone else's religion with a Christian bias then you are not really studying it with an open mind.
If you want to inform your friend about the similarities and differences between your 2 religions then you can go right ahead, but you have to give the same courtesy of listening to them compare and contrast them as well. Otherwise you are preaching and may sound rude. If you politely let them talk too then you are having a discussion.
Good Luck.

Jesus was a Jew and not a Christian. I suppose one can make an argument that Jesus was the first Christian but the evidence is limited. During the time of Jesus, there were Jews and non-Jews or Gentiles. In short, the Jews did not treat the Gentile's very well. The basis for Jesus' message was that everyone Jew, Gentile or other should be treated with dignity and respect. Jesus wanted us all to live our lives the way that He lived. His message is clear but is often misinterpreted or misunderstood... Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life, no man can come unto the Father but by Jesus. Yes, this is somewhat true but it is mostly about living ones life like Jesus and not telling other how to live their lives... There are good people on all faiths that will never be Christians but are good people regardless of their religious following...

If you are truly seeking the Father he will let you know when to speak and when to keep your mouth shut. Make sure you are teaching and not preaching and in all of it don't be judgmental. More people are turned away from Christ by Judgmental Zealots than are won over. You are correct but the last part of the verse NO man come to the Father but by Jesus. What does that mean? Could it mean that first HE must call them? If so you can't drag them in.

It's OK to study other belief systems, however, you must always look at it through the mirror of what the Bible says. The Bible is Absolute Truth, therefore, when studying these other beliefs do it solely as a way to better understand where their coming from when you witness to them. Not as another alternative to the truth, because there can only be one absolute truth, Jesus Christ, the Word.

I assume your question was: "Was Jesus a popular person when he preached on sin?" Answer: YES. Read any one of the Gospels. He was CONSTANTLY surrounded by people. People flocked to Him to listen, be healed, see miracles, whatever. He was largely hated by the pharisees and their buds. Here's an example, "When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick." (Matt 14:13-14) That is the story when He feeds 5,000. But read a little bit further on...."The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children." (Matt. 14:21) That's JUST 5k MEN. Yeah...I'd say He was popular.

In the New Testament it says "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man" * He had great friends, and well as great enemies.
What is fascinating is that Jesus had harsh words not simply for people who hated Him, or were different than Him, or even those who killed Him. He only expressed anger towards the religious hypocrites of His day. That for us is the biggest lesson...be authentic as those people who identify with Jesus Christ!

Actually, you had it right the first time - it is called judgement. Youre judging what others believe AGAINST what you THINK is the only right, true and correct religion. But youre wrong.
Religion should be a personal choice. You stating that others need to be taught the errors of their thinking is not allowing for personal choice in religion. So back off.
Please please please go away. Non-Christians are not interested in listening to your drivel. If someone is interested in joining your cult, Im sure they will seek you out - no need for you to go searching for them...

Nope Jesus wasn't popular at all to secular people when he talked about the whole sin issue (people tried to kill him), but that didn't stop him because he knew his message was one people needed to hear. I think that it's a good idea to try to evangelize people, but try to do it gently so that you don't scare people away unnecessarily
