If you are having an immediate problem try drinking prune juice and/or going to the health food store for an herbal tea or product. Afterwards examine your diet and lifestyle carefully. Adding fiber foods to your diet - at least one leafy, green salad a day, and at least five servings of fruit and vegetables, as well as switching to whole grains - cereals, pastas and bread all come in whole grain varieties. Psyllium seeds or powder - about a tablespoon a day can help, Drinking 8 - glasses of water a day also helps. If the problem continues then see your doctor to rule out spastic colon, Chron's and Celiac - which are very prevalent. Work up to at least an hour of walking, five days a week as it helps the body regulate itself and is great for all over physical and emotional health. Much of bowel problems stem from stress. You might want to check out EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique, as it can help in both the immediate and long term for many health problems - you can learn it for free if you go to their website.

Prunes, prune juice, eat a bunch of vegis, or go to your local health food store and buy an herbal non-stimulant laxative. You can also buy a jar of pure bran and just dust your food with it.

Prunes....though if you eat too many you will be "running" instead of "going."

On a everyday basis, foods that are high in fiber will help keep things regular.

The fatty kinds, the kinds full of lots of fiber. Prunes are supposed to send you to the shitter. Or just eat so much you feel like you're going to explode.

Apple Cider (not the juice, must be cider!!) -- will work almost immediately.

Prune Juice is good also -- takes a few hours.

Prunes -- takes a day or so.

The tea that is referred to above is also good, but takes a day or two.
