My girlfriend and I used to date and it was nothing but awesome. Her ex-boyfriend was controlling and abusive. Out of nowhere she starts acting distant and so I ask her whats up. She says she feels cynical towards relationships and doesn't really like them (which used to not be the case at all before the ex). She thought everything was ok but now she said she's confused about how she feels about dating. Note that this girl has low self-esteem.

Honestly, part of me really hopes that she just needs time but is that the case? I don't want to be some wussy dude just waiting around for her so what action should I take (aside from leaving her altogether...which is worst case scenario)?

Show her the beauty and passion, get her outta her own world and bring her to reallity. Let her see that not all relationships are the same, dont give up without a fight. Make her see how wonderful she is to you.

Well, tell her to take her time and decide on what she wants to do. That you will be waiting for her. If it is more than one month, dump her. She doesn't want to be with you, so you should just go your separate ways. Or she has found someone else and she doesn't want to hurt you.

If this happens all of a sudden, then there may be someone else that has come into her life. You need to consider this and guard your heart so you don't get hurt. best of luck.
