Because when someone says that they are a good person, they would be saying that they are God. Why is a cat a "cat" and a dog a "dog"? It's just the language.

to answer your question, if it is serious and not a joke, i should tell you that god is infinite, and therefore human beings with finite minds can not really comprehend him. by his very nature human beings can conclude that god is the source of all love and goodness. furthermore, "god" denotes deity, and many cultures around the world have envisioned gods and godlike beings of varying temperaments. i do not know your religion, but i might say that you seem to be christion or agnostic searching for god. look for god in nature and all good things, and tell me that god is not good. in the end, it is your conviction that counts. i believe god is good, and present in the catholic church, and it is my faith in him that convinces me of this. god bless.

God is the creator of this world and truth. It is GOOD for us if we follow his principles, search his universe and explore the world that exists beyond ourselves. If we don't then it is eventually BAD for us.
