Does anyone have any specific recommendations about like what to use to clean glasses with?
For example, I prefer Rain-X brand windshield wiper fluid instead of generic because it is far superior, it keeps your windshield clean longer and lets the rain or mud or whatever slide right off.
Is there anything similar for glasses?

my dad just takes his glasses, runs them under water for a second and then wipes them with a really soft cotton cloth.

it seems to work ok for him.

As said earlier - do not use any cleaners unless they are specifically approved to use on lenses in your glasses. The lenses in glasses usually have special coatings on them and the use of harsh cleaners could strip them of the coatings. Also, using tissue or a paper towel can scratch your lenses. Cotton is the best to use and you can run the lenses under water and then wipe with clean cotton for the best results.

To clean your glasses you should use glasses cleaner. You could get that at ur eye Doctor. Never use windshield wiper fluid.

I've worn glasses most of my life- I clean them with a tissue and breath. It is the most effiecient way I know.
If they are particularly dirty (paint or something), I run them quickly under a very hot tap.
I have never had to buy or use any special glasses cleaner, though you can buy it at the opticians.

I don't use anything to clean my glasses, except with my shirt when they get dirty. I've had glasses for almost 15 years and it's just a nuissance to have to clean them all the time, so I just do it when I think that they need cleaning. So honestly I couldn't tell you what to use.

Rinse with warm water, dry gently with CLEAN cotton cloth or the small cleaning cloth you get at the optometrist. NEVER use paper towels or paper napkins, and avoid using your shirt or any fabric that might have picked up dust and grit. I carry small cotton washcloths and use those.
