I'm afraid that I am going to lose my girlfriend. My girlfriend who I love with all my heart, the one person I would do anything for, is going to transfer colleges soon. Shes not sure which school she will be transferring to, but there is a chance she will be far. The closest she'll be would be a school in southern california near san diego and i'm currently in northern california near san francisco. The furthest she'll be would be on the east coast if she decides to go there. That would mean we would be on opposite sides of the continent.

Everything else between us is so perfect. I love her so much, and she is everything and more i could ask for in a girlfriend. Shes beautiful, smart, and more importantly, understands me more than anyone i've ever met. She hasnt applied to any schools yet and the chances of her staying local with me and going far are about the same. The thing is i'm getting so depressed just thinking about the possibility of her going so far. What would you guys do?

write letters....real letters, if this should come to pass. they are romantic and able to be saved with a ribbon tied around them...and reread.

i had a long distance bf in high school, before either of us had computers and our parents paid for the phone bill. its been 7 years since we broke up, and i came across 'our stuff' yesterday, and i read a few letters and remember with fondness the time we had together.

(we broke up because we grew up and developed into different people...if you're already in college, you're likely through that changing stage.)

it is important that you support her in her decision...she needs to be a whole person by herself, so she can feel like one when she's with you.

Well, there's so many different ways of handling the situation. You could just sit around doing nothing. But that's not the way to look at the picture. If she's the more important than anything in the world, then you should go with her. Who knows, maybe you two will stay with each other for the rest of your lives. There are always other colleges to study at, but she's one in a million in your eyes I assume. Besides, if it doesn't work out, you can always move back. But if you just can't move with her, you can always keep in contact via Internet, phone, and mail. But there's nothing anyone can do for you except give you advice. So my best advice to you is to follow your heart. I always like to say that everything happens for a reason. I wish you and your girlfriend the very best.

Well if you love her that much get up and move with her. If you think she is the love of your life go for it. You can always go back home. Just remember you only live once and take a chance. What would it hurt. Nothing. So go for it. Good luck to you two. You sound like a great guy.

Hi buddy, If you really love her dont let her go because it's really hard to find that special one or try to come up with a special idea like moving close to her or moving in with her...

How about write to her. If u can't get ahold of her. Write to her without sending them. Then it feels like u are talking to her, and when u see her, u can give her the letters. Then u never forget anything.
