Thanks for pointing out the hypocrisy. I really wish people would actually read how Jesus lived his life!

Same sex marriage is a human right.
Marriage is a legal institution, not a religious one.
The law MUST treat all as equals. When it doesn't (as in the case of Same Sex marriage) then a human right is being denied.
That cannot be allowed to continue.
While the world is making strides forward in this regard (Canada has finally recognized the rights of all Same Sex couples to marry) the USA leaps backwards into the dark ages...

We have been taught to love our neighbor as our self. But just because you love someone doesn't mean you just let them be. How often did "True Jesus" call men hypocrites? Or his "oh unbelieving and perverse generation" comment? Many of His parables ended with something along the lines of "tie them hand and foot and throw them outside where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." In the Old Testament it was written in the "Law" that 'thou shalt not lie with another man as one lies with a woman.(Matt. 5:28)' You could try to argue that it's possible to love someone without sex, but we're talking about passionate and romantic love, yes? Homosexuality is defined as a tendency to direct sexual desire toward another of the same sex. Jesus Himself said "I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has committed adultery with her in his heart." (Some would want to say that only applies to women, but lets be serious here) According to Jesus, even thinking about it, is the same as the act itself. Jesus also said: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." (Matt. 5:17-18) The problem today with Christians AND everyone else is just that: persecution. We (Christians) are told to "restore" GENTLY. (Gal. 6:1) As Christians we KNOW we are going to be persecuted and mocked. That doesn't gve us any reason to return it. Be smart about it! Being just as vehement about defending your beliefs, and/or condemning others is NOT helping us out. We need to exhume our show of compassion and grace. Afterall, Jesus loved everyone and you see that He "had compassion on them" a LOT. But they were all sinners! He would show and direct them towards the right direction, the only ones He outright condemned were the pharisees and their lot. The hypocrites. What would He say to you?

Many so-called "Christians" like to pick the parts of the Bible that appeal to them and disregard the ones that don't. They especially like the ones that they think give them the green light to persecute others. That's the reason why Christianity has been used to justify such social ills as the oppression of women, slavery, anti-Semitism, and homophobia.

Lord, thou hast said in thy Word that for a man to lie with another man as a man lieth with a woman is an abomination. Why wouldst thou now change thy mind? Is it thy will to change the laws of nature? Wilt thou next ask us to accept incest, as this also occurs in nature? Wilt thou have us to confirm beastiality as an alternate lifestyle?
When thou dost say "Love thy neighbor as thyself", is it thine intention that we ought to have a neighborhood orgy?
Lord, I do not believe that this one who is so bold as to speak in thy Name is sane. Perhaps he has not thought these things through.

I think it's every persons personal decision. Any chance you could stay out of our affairs from now on. Oh, but first, maybe smite the fundamentalists? C'mon, just a little smite? They really are acting wacky these days.

Be careful what you speak , for every idle word you say , you will be judged . Homosexuality is an abomination to God that is why He destroyed sodom and gomorrah . The Bible does mention it several times .

Please write your diatribes/questions in MODERN English. No Jesus didn't teach against homosexuality...In fact all he ever taught was LOVE...TURN THE OTHER CHEEK, ETC. Religion has contorted what was said to allow them CONTROL. If they just stuck with the basic word we'd all be better off for it! PEACE!

Be who you are, stop acting like an anti-christ.
You are only confusing those that have thought in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ doesn't need no help from you.
