My Mother taught me how to make home made egg noodles, its kind of a family tradition, and I was about 11 or 12, long time ago and I still make them from scratch.

Mine was pancakes. I was about 4 years old. I would always wake up really early in the morning and meet my dad in the kitchen. We would make the batter, and I was always allowed to lick the spoon (and the bowl!). We would sometimes make regular pancakes, sometimes chocolate chip, bluberry, cranberry, and sometimes all 3!
Most of the guys I know (13 years) still reach for a cereal bar rather than pour milk into a bowl. When they do, its usually there mom that makes all of their food! Most girls I know (13 years) can cook, but don't choose to. The ones that like to cook get really creative especially with baking. I'm 13, and I personally love to cook, and I mean full on dinners.

I too did the eggs and pancake thing that was at 7. But the first meal was baked ham, mashed potatoes and a can of veggies. That was at 10. I had cooked past before that but boiling water and throwing noodles at a wall till they stuck just doesn't seem like real cooking to me.

The first food I learned how to cook was apple pie, taught to me by my great grandmother. I was 10 years old. 20 years later, and I can still make one mean apple pie. :)
As for a real meal...jeez. I really can't remember. Does a guess count? If so, I'm going to guess probably pot roast with carrots, potatoes and onions.

Like u and u'r siblings my first meal was bacon, eggs, and waffles.I was 8yrs old.I had totally destroyed the kitchen trying to cook breakfast for me and my friends. My parents had gone shopping and left me alone w/nothing to eat. Back then shopping was an all day affair,
so instead of beating me they taught me to cook,1st bacon, eggs and waffles, next fried chicken, then broiled steaks.etc,etc,etc.
I knew I was good when I was allowed to cook Thanksgiving dinner by myself, everything,my family was that side of families where everyone came to eat because the food was so good.
Well, this is my story and I'm sticking to it. (smile)

I think mine was Mac and Cheese. I took the base from the box and added stuff to it like more cheese and meat of some kind. Hamberger, hot dogs, etc. When you first learn to cook, you are usually limited on what you can buy due to more expenses than being at mom's. Good question!!

Less than 4 yrs old. Peanut and jelly sandwich on toast. The bread was cooked in the toaster and don't tell me that wasn't cooking because I got burnt.
