Mat 25:31 When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all of his angels, he will sit on his royal throne.
Mat 25:32 The people of all nations will be brought before him, and he will separate them, as shepherds separate their sheep from their goats.
Mat 25:33 He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Mat 25:34 Then the king will say to those on his right, "My father has blessed you! Come and receive the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world was created.
Mat 25:35 When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me,
Mat 25:36 and when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me."
Mat 25:37 Then the ones who pleased the Lord will ask, "When did we give you something to eat or drink?
Mat 25:38 When did we welcome you as a stranger or give you clothes to wear
Mat 25:39 or visit you while you were sick or in jail?"
Mat 25:40 The king will answer, "Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me."

Joh 13:34 But I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you.
Joh 13:35 If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples.

1Jo 4:20 But if we say we love God and don't love each other, we are liars. We cannot see God. So how can we love God, if we don't love the people we can see?
1Jo 4:21 The commandment that God has given us is: "Love God and love each other!"

Jesus expressed it by saying "If you have done it (meaning feed, clothed, or helped) to the least of my brothers, you have done it to me."

Listen some time to the arguements that people have against faith. "If there is a God, why does He let people starve?" "If there is a God, why did he let a drunk kill my mother?" "Why did He let me be raped, or beaten, or abandoned, or...."

Most people's difficulty with faith is not intellectual, its emotional. Its an issue of the heart, not the head. Get the heart, and the head comes along.

As Christians we are called to minister to those who are hurtings. Whether in food, clothes, kind words, money, a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen. We are called to bear each others burden, and to live lives that shine like lights into the darkness. ("So they can see our good works, and come to glorify our Father in heaven").

Each one that we are able to help, is one more who is drawn closer to the point where they can be freed of their hurts and know Him and His love.

Through service to answer those questions "Why does God...". We answer them by serving them. By being His hand extended in blessing. We bring the food. We help the needy. We comfort those who mourn. We work to help the drunk or drug addict overcome his addiction. To stop, and hopefully deliver, the pervert from his sexual violence. We strive to find healing for disease, cures for poverty, freedom for the opressed, justice for the unjust.

And each time you save someone from harm, each time you heal a scar, or soften a heart, or bring a smile, you bring that person closer to being able to find the love of God.

What greater service could you give to Him then that?

As creations of God, we are all the result of His love. When we serve mankind we are serving God's creation and therefore serving God

Jesus himself said, that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Showing this level of devotion to others is an outward manifestation of what God has done inside of us.

This is mainly a christian ideal because of Jesus's teachings regarding how we should treat each other.
