I want to be a true Christian and follow the preachings of Exodus, but I have no slaves. Where do I get some so I can serve God by complying with the following:

EXODUS
21:1 These are the laws that you must set before [the Israelites]:
21:2 If you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years, but in the seventh year, he is to be set free without liability.
21:3 If he was unmarried when he entered service, he shall leave by himself. But if he was a married man, his wife shall leave with him.
21:4 If his master gives him a wife, and she bears sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall remain her master's property. [The slave] shall leave by himself.
21:5 If the slave declares, 'I am fond of my master, my wife and my children; I do not want to go free,'
21:6 his master must bring him to the courts. Standing [the slave] next to the door or doorpost, his master shall pierce his ear with an awl. [The slave] shall then serve [his master] forever.

Firstly, you dont need slaves; I prefer indentured servants, as they historically rebel less, and you can treat them more cost effectively, as you only need them alive for 7 years, not a lifetime. But if you do want a slave, you can pick up a six pack at Costco for about 30 bucks. Or just go to a small, impoverished eastern European or African nation with a large box and carry them home.

The key word here is IF.You need to do some serious research, though I doubt that will happen since you are simply trying to demonize the Christian religion. At the time of the book of Exodus, the Chistian religion did not exist.Nowhere in the Bible will you find a passage that says a person must have slaves. You should read the Book without bias and not be a slave to your own ignorance.

Well, I've seen specials on TV that report on the current slave trade, believe me, it's alive and well.

But there you go taking the Bible literally! It's only to be taken literally when we want to bash gays!

Did you know that the reason the Bible contains the text that is does is that a COMMITTEE voted on what to include about 1600 years ago?

Beware of those who believe the Bible literally.

Interestingly enough, Christians don't follow all the laws of the old testament, just certain ones and I've never had a decent explanation as to why.

Tsk, tsk... You're interpreting the bible literally! That can only be done by Christians who want to insult other religions and groups of people!
