The parents who let their children act like little pimps and whores aren't parenting.

I've been called an over protective mother but my daughter isn't 15 and knocked up.

Wow! I am amazed at how judgemental people are!

I didn't see the show you are talking about, but there are lots of reasons that teenagers get pregnant. And it isn't always "bad parenting." Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on the parent), parents aren't the only force in their children's lives. And for teenagers, parents certainly aren't the most important.

For all of those answering who ALSO didn't see the show: how do you know what the girl's history is? Did you ever consider that she may have been raped? Did you ever consider that she may have a disorder, perhaps be in the 'manic' phase of Bipolar? Or perhaps her mother has to work 16 hour days to keep a roof over their heads, and the daughter simply got caught up in the wrong crowd (peer pressure). Or was looking for paternal love in all the wrong places. Or maybe the mother WAS a crappy parent, but is that the daughter's fault? Is she supposed to just know that her upbringing is shitty, and 'overcome it?'

I think the reason kids are so "out of control" (as others put it) is because adults are so judgemental of them. What ever happened to the idea that it takes a village to raise a child? What ever happened to not throwing the first stone? If this girl (and others like her) get nothing but dumped on for her mistake, she will withdraw more, and probably have another baby before she drops out of high school. Would YOU help her to find a better path? Have YOU EVER reached out to one of these kids, to meet them where they stand? What have YOU done to help the kids whose lives have fallen apart well before their lives ever had a chance to get started? Or do you just sit back and complain about 'the way things used to be,' bitching about how everyone else is raising children 'wrong?'

Really! So 'none' of the other negative respondants got pregnant when they were teenagers, but how many of you had sex before you were married? Are you really so naive to think that the same couldn't have possibly happened to you? And for those who did wait, hooray for you! I'm sure there is nothing else you have ever done in your life worth public ridicule...

And everyone always talks about the girls...the girls flaunt it, the girls are whores, the girls the girls...Do you people remember sex ed? You do realize that it takes a boy and a girl to make a baby, right? Along with raising the girls to have some self-worth, we should be raising the boys to treat girls as something other than playthings. Boys are not victims who are tempted into having sex by some whore's flaunting. Give me a break!

It's a good thing your not a parent yet because if you beat your child you could land in jail. And I suggest you not become a parent until you can see both sides of a subject. The mother was defending her daughter because the girl was just that her daughter. She obviously loves her daughter unconditionally and is supportive of her daughter which is a parent's job. If you don't think you can support your child in whatever choices they make (and by that I'm not meaning to like what they do), and if you can't give unconditional love them you might want to think long and hard about having children at all.

It just goes 2 show u what kinda time we r living in. Where children r making children & no 1 seems 2 think it shouldn't b happening in the 1st place. "How could she defend her daughter's wrong doing like that? She is just encouraging the child's stupid behaviour. The next thing we'll c with them is when they find out the daughter has some kind of STD.

You would hit your pregnant daughter? YOU are the one that is sick. I got pregnant at 17 not because my parents didn't teach me morals, not because I had bad parents, but because of my fertility. My daughter was conceived on birth control. Contrary to popular belief, I have never been on welfare, I'm still with my daughter's father, and my parents aren't raising my daughters. I have another one now by the same man. When I was 15, I was playing sports too, but when I turned 17 I met my fiance and fell in love. You shouldn't judge this girl. Maybe there are reasons unknown about why she got pregnant. People want to judge too quick about things they know nothing about. When I got pregnant, I had an aunt who said her daughter would NEVER get pregnant while she was still in high school. Her daughter's 15 and pregnant. I don't judge pregnant teens because I don't want it to come back and bite me in the *** in the future.

When I was that age I was just starting high school and was a good student. I wasn't not thinking about sex anything. Mainly because my parents raised me to be a virtous Christian woman. I am glad of that because I would not be the person I am today. I am a wife, SAHM to a 8.5 month old and I hope something like that doesn't happen to my daughter. God Bless

I totally agree with you. I have four teenage boys and I am appalled at the girls and the way they behave around them. My parents would have killed me if I were to behave like that. This one moved in with us and lived here for about a year and a half. 14 years old! What was her mother thinking? Now she has made the girl move back home and is trying to undo what she has done. a year and 1/2 late if you ask me.

I feel the same. People are crazy these days. But to answer your question. Her mom defended her because she had her when she was 15 and her mom had her when she was 15 and so on. The world is a sad place.

Wow, those are nice big stones you are casting...

Why be so judgemental?

Just learn from this for your own situation and have some compassion and pity as opposed to harsh judgement for others. I have learned that this, in the long run, leads to a lot more serenity, peace and love for all involved.
