Ephedra basically speeds up your heart rate, gives you more energy that you need to burn in the same amount of time that you would on a normal day without it. As your heart rate increases, so does your blood flow. When your blood flow rushes through your body at a faster rate, it has the tendency to increase blood pressure. (Like pulling too much electricity from one outlet you would start a fire, or pumping too much water into a hose you would break the hose.) Therefore the headaches are reflective of your blood pressure. You are most likely taking a bit too much Ephedra for your body to manage. I would recommend downing the amount for now, and maybe uping it back up, so long as you don't get the headaches anymore. Be careful.

Ephedra is basically the legal version of speed. I suggest that you look up the side effects of ephedra on the net. Here is some info that I found, and here is the web sight that you can view for more info.
http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/allergiesasthma/a/Ephedra.htm
Non-specific stimulation of adrenergic receptors means that ephedra should not be used in people with anxiety and restlessness, high blood pressure, glaucoma, impaired circulation of the cerebrum, prostate adenoma with residual urine accumulation, pheochromocytoma, and thyrotoxicosis.
Common side effects resulting from the stimulatory effects of ephedra include headache, irritability, restlessness of muscles, nausea, sleeplessness, increased heart rate, urinary disturbances and vomiting. Higher dosages may result in drastic increases in blood pressure and cardiac rhythm disorders.
Dependence has been suggested as a possible result of extended intake. Although products containing ephedrine are listed as addictive by the International Olympic Committee, later analysis at the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse suggests that the potential for addiction is minimal and did not recommend imposing stricter regulation.

I agree with your second answer, it is most probably raising your blood pressure. So if it causes you to have a headache, then don't take it. You don't need to develop an aneurysm or have a stroke at your young age.

You get a headache from Ephedra because this is your body's way of telling you to stop. It is dangerous.

That stuff is dangerous. The headache is your body trying to warn you. People have died from taking Ephedra.
