If Eve came from Adam's rib and everyone that's ever been born had to have come from the initial union between Adam and Eve:
* How can we account for the fact that everyone born since then wasn't born with genetic defects, which at some point very early on, would have let to the extinction of our species?
* How can we account for variety of races on the planet (black, white, Chinese, Spanish, Indian, Mongol, etc. etc. etc.) if we all came from the same two people (really one, when you consider that Eve came from Adam)?
* Basically, how can we account for so much genetic diversity in people if the initial gene pool was so small to begin with?

No genetic defect because they were so close to perfection then that it wasn't an issue.
Variety of races goes back to the Tower of Babel.
lol read your bible hon it's all there!

I'll do my best to answer this question but unfortunately I don't have enough time to do the appropriate research to back everything up.
The genetic defects issues is addressed with the fact that we carry a whole lot more genetic code then we really use. Many people belive that this code was used "some how" to create genetic diversity when hooking up with your sister wasn't the freaky wierd thing it is now.
Another concept the supports that is everything about our world gradually decays ( breaksdown) it's entirely possible the genetic code in humans broke down other time. When this happened it was not long safe for people to interbreed among families.
As far as the races, evolution accounts for this, not Macro evolution, where a frog becomes a turtle but Micro Evolution, where one frog becomes another kind of frog. Micro evolution is the most realistic place natural selection comes into play, If I have a family in affrica an two of my kids have very Fair skin so they get cancer and die young only have two kids of thier own, and I have two other kinds who have darker skin and they have 8 kids each because they live longer then more people i n that area are going to have darker skin and they are more likely to have kids with darker skin and so on.

1. The removal of a rib after Adam was formed has nothing to do with his children not being born with one rib less. Assume that I am involved in a car accident and loss my right leg. A few months later (it took some time to recover from the accident), I have sex with my wife and she conceived. When the baby is born, will he have his right leg missing?
2. You actually answered the next two questions yourself: "if the initial gene pool was so small to begin with". Note the expression "gene pool". That allowed for some variation within the human race. The other variations are due to environmental factors.

Adam and Eve weren't the only people on earth at that time which is exactly what genesis says people just don't take the time to study what was written they rather follow the blind into a pit, probably due to a lack of diligence or care for salvation

The races came from the sons of Noah after the Flood. Cush, for example is known as the father of the Black Africans because he migrated there after the Flood and put down roots. His name in Hebrew means "black." The rest of them migrated to other places and through their own conditioning the other races were born. As for people born with genetic anomalies, there are several explanations that range from incest on up!

i imagine that is onto something. i imagine because possibly because of the memories Adam and Eve the position produced from. i do not imagine human beings knew of affection and romance the way they did in the course of the time of Shakespeare. So possibly they created the tale depending on the awareness that they had on the time. i imagine it became a wager because the rib is seen and both adult men and ladies human beings or a like, this became their theory how god created mankind. we favor to question each and every of the pieces one by one like the flow, the memories, pin aspect all of this so human beings extensively can recognize the truth's about Christianity.

i was wondering the same thing!! but i guessed that where people lived later on gave them their different looks...like dark skin to protect them from sun rays, etc...but if God was able to create a person from another's rib dont you think He can also provide Eve with different genetic characteristics??!! Nothing is impossible when it comes it God's capabilities...

When one believes this story to be literally true one can use any number of delusional made up reasons to explain it all away. The most basic of these answers is that God made it happen.
