Believe it or not that's one of the best ways to get over it. Have yourself a good cry to those songs but eventually, maybe years from now, you'll hear them and just remember that person or a moment you had with them and it won't make you feel bad.

You shouldn't listen to them over and over again. That will ruin the song. If you do it while you are constantly depressed the song will only remind you of depression.

I think its becuz those songs r close to how ur feeling abt that person or to ur mental condition so they touch ur emotions making u feel depressed.
