There's no Lusanne, but there's a Lausanne on Lake Geneva and a Lucerne on Lake Lucerne.
Lausanne is French, Lucerne is German.
Both are beautiful.
Lausanne's an hour from Geneva, Lucerne's an hour from Zurich.
Lausanne has the Olympic Museum, Lucerne has the Transport Museum.
I'm pretty sure Lausanne is bigger.

It's located on the banks of Lake Geneva. French speaking city in the Vaud canton of Switzerland. About 45 minutes or so by train from Geneva.
And it's spelled, Lausanne. :)

Well, why not visit the official website...?
Short: It's the capitol of the Swiss canton (province/state) of Waadt (German) or Vaud (French), the main language there is French, it's directly at Lake Geneva and has two leading universities.
