There are too many answers I could give: Have you ever heard about Mother Theresa? Do you think she did nothing for the human community?
For the gentleman who said humans are inherently good I would like to ask when? Humans kill, rape, rob and slander each other. I truly believe that human nature is not a positive thing. Children are not born knowing how to share or care. They have to be taught. There are plenty of children who were not taught this who exhibit just what human nature is if not trained. No where did Christ ever teach anything evil.

Christianity, like other primitive belief systems, was a means for people to understand their world and their place in it. However, like other religions, it has outlived its usefulness. Two-thousand year old answers will not solve today's highly complex questions. It is time that humanity accept its responsibility to think rationally about the problems our world faces.

The answer is....we dont need it. Humans are inherantly good and will do good things without the need for a crutch like theism.
