because you scare them off - you need to not be one of the guys, but be a woman. make them chase after you - not too hard to get, but give them some fun in the chase.

Because you just haven't found the right guy yet.
I hung around guys in school, still do, and I would've loved to go out with a few of them, but I was in the same place you are now.
When the time is right you'll find the right person, and my guy friends from 20+ years ago are still my friends even if I haven't seen them for awhile. I know if I called them right now for help they'd be there for me.
You could always spruce yourself up a bit and see if anyone gets the hit. If they don't it's their problem.

Perhaps you should change the impression you're giving this guys. If you want a deep relationship, you shouldn't scare guys and turn them away by giving them the impression that the best they could have from you is purely a platonic relationship. It could be that possibly coming across as not being available or not interested in any other the way then what your perceived. Maybe you need to advertise a little bit more and women do know how to advertise :)

Maybe you're a better friend than a romantic partner. Try being a little more flirtatious with the boys you like, but don't go past the line...leave 'em wanting more.

open talks with the guys around and let them know what you want, if you want more than friendship and sisterhood, tell them... i think being a good friend can make a good wife too. You are having a nice advantage to be called so, i say.
