The are just as high any time of the month. My doctor once told me that you can get pregnant 15 days before your period and 15 days after your period. If your worried about getting pregnant then you need to make sure you use protection everytime you have sex.

You are all crazy ... People use to believe that you are not going to pregnant around your period.
This is when you are most fertile. The middle between two periods is a state when the egg is not completely present yet, and the other has firmly left.

After all why do you think cats and dogs get in heat during their period (before, during & AFTER)... It is because this is the time to reproduce.

People should stop preaching Grandma's old medicinal techniques and start reading into modern day health care.

Most likely not. You ovulate 15 days AFTER the START date of your period. So, if you START your period on the 10th, then you ovulate on the 25th. You would be most likely to get pregnant on the 25th and the time frame is about a week.
