If you're referring to Yahoo! Answers ... it's because some people are just into gaining points. It's one of the drawbacks to having a points system.
Some people just like to hide behind anonymity so they can insult people. It makes them feel bigger to try to tear someone else down.
Ignore them, and ask your questions. There are some of us who will address the question in a mature fashion and try to give you legitimate advice ... based upon expertise and/or experience.

Society has been shifted to a "I want it and I want it now." perspective. People are in too big a hurry to listen to a simple question.
