1. Yes
2. Do not attempt to separate them
3. The "stuckness" is a natural part of their breeding process
4. The differences in canine anatomy allow for multiple fathers in one litter.
This is theoretically possible in humans, and has happened 1 time in recent history when a woman ovulated two eggs. And had intercourse with two separate men within a relatively short period of time. She had fraternal twins with two different fathers. It may happen more often than we realize, but in her case it was striking because the babies were of different races.
In dogs this occurrence is extremely common. In order for a male dog to prevent another suitor from jumping in, he literally blocks the door.
The base of canine member swells, locking into the female anatomy. Then the male lifts one leg over the female and turns to face the other direction, while still linked together. This may have evolved as a safety feature. Since the pair is somewhat vulnerable while in conjunction. While facing opposite directions they are more protected.
After a certain amount of time the swelling goes down, and they will break apart on their own. If there are other males in the other the female may or may not mate with them, depending on if the first male scares them off or not.
Hope that helps.

Yes, once the swelling goes down, its a swelling in penis which locks the dog to the female dog (if I use the righ terms Yahoo stars it out!!!), often dogs can sound distressed when they have finished as they want to leave but are trapped until nature takes its course.

Many people suggest ways of separating them..Never try to separate them, as it will cause damage to one or both of them. They will separate on their own when the swelling goes down.

Yes, but stay with them. If one gets scared and tries to pull away they can get hurt.
