Cut and run? What? Are you stupid or just trying (badly) to make a point?
We were in Vietnam for some 15+ years, spent $Billions and lost 58,000+ soliders and THAT'S cutting and running?
Dude, do you have no concept of ENOUGH is ENOUGH?

Erudite, you are surprisingly capable of doing research, seditious, good at free speech (seperate things), come up with some great questions, insult our country/military/elected officials (comments about political parties are fair game, as they aren't elected as a group!). You are a puzzle.
They had the same attitudes you and I have. They caved to yours rather than caving to mine. They tried to go with the majority, and the majority had never seen war on their television sets before. They didn't lie. They changed their minds. The situation changed.
I can say, "I'm going to be a doctor when I grow up", but when I get to be about 30, I might discover myself being a garbage man, or a teacher, or a lawyer. Things change.
If you were really in the war, then I am surprised you aren't more respectful to the military while still disagreeing with the war. The U.S. government CAN'T tell us when we are going to pull out, when we are winning, when we are losing, if it will help our enemies. That leaves you, and me especially, a civilian, in the dark.
The dark made you very bitter. It taints every question you ask despite the fact that your intelligence is becoming clearer and better displayed.
I don't want you to stop questioning and pointing out opposition to the war, I just would like you to stop acting like an ally of our enemies and stop calling our elected officials names. That undermines all of us, just as it did President Clinton.
Same words, just put "President" in front of "Bush" and call his policies stupid, not him. Slight difference, but the difference is between free speech AND sedition vs. free speech without sedition. It's hard to call you a fellow citizen with behavior like the last few questions.
If you aren't a fellow citizen, and are just pretending to be, then to heck with you, you are an enemy of our country and there is no reason to extend a hand attempting to bring you back into the fold (those in the "fold" argue a lot. That's American).

Are you ready for the REALLY bad news!
Bush is trying to establish a TRADE agreement with them NOW!
In 30 years you will see Made In Vietnam on tags of some items you buy!
How does that grab you!
I was drafted into that mess!
Same era as you, when Nixon was getting us out of Vietnam by bombing all of Cambodia, Laos and Thialand!
Anyone here read Orwell.
Today we like the Blue Nation but Hate the Green Nation.
Ooops, we changed.
Now we LIKE the Green nation but hate the blue nation!

Because bleeding heart liberals wouldn't let us fight to win. If you were there you would know all you were allowed to do was keep them up north. You have proved your self to be a liar so many times on the board I hope no one actually believes your crap. My husband served in Vietnam and you disgrace his memory along with 56 thousand other brave men and women!

We didn't run and we didn't lose. We did what the politicions thought was the right move (I didn't think so), We basicly turned the war over to them after training them to fight back. It was they that turned and ran after we left. Sorry but even though I was there then, it was a war that we should not have been in to begin with.
