Revelation 1:15 describes the Jesus of judgement. This was the start of John's Revelation where, first, letters of both encouragement and judgement were written to seven distinct churches that John knew of. After that comes the revelation about the end-times.

Jesus looked very much like any Jew whom you would have met during the 1st century A.D. Assuming that any Jews you meet today have not had any ancestors from Arab, African, or Asian backgrounds, then Jesus would have looked very similar to the way they look.

He was a jew and jews are white; and yes he does not look like the pic we now have of Him.
Re 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
Re 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Re 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Since none of the artists actually saw Jesus, there is no way for them to paint him accurately. However, since Jesus was a Jew, born from a Jewish mother, genetically it would be reasonable to assume he looked...Jewish.

Rev 1:15 was written some 60 years after Jesus died, it was written by the Apostle John and it was a vision. Much of it is metaphorical.

I'm not sure that the verse you refers to confirms that Jesus wasn't white, but I know that Jesus wasn't white. European Christians probably created images of him with blue eyes and blonde hair (or other Caucasian features) so that they could relate to him, and this got passed on to the rest of the world. It is not bad to want to relate to Jesus, but it is wrong to distort the truth and make it look like the Gospel truth that Jesus was white, particularly in an attempt to assert the superiority of white people over other races.

do u know how creation works , may be in the beginning of a work u will have an idea which will not be there by the time u complete it.. think of duplicating.. a piece of art or a dollar .. u can be caught because u cant do 100% same.. when i case of the ordinary things if it is so hard do u think that a artist can draw the picture of GOD.. who has never ever seen him for a second?

dude, Jesus was Jewish...thus he was a medium toned white person.... Jewish is a race, nationality and religion....one of the few things that are. this is all documented

now what nationality God is would be (not color since she's not supposed to have a form) is an entirely different question.

HEY KATHKINOTI - - i would like to see that picture of Jesus with blonde hair and blue eyes!!! never in my life have i seen that!! Maybe the Nazis (who were aryans - ppl that believed that blonde blue eyed people were superior) may have dones something like this, but i've never seen it in the main stream.

Men do them as they want to imagine him.. But you are right, I picture my Lord the same way you saw Him in the word.

But God say clear in His word, in Exodus 20:4 - 5
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God,

catholic churches skip this part of the Bible and when they give the ten commandments, they only write it down or tell the people what is convenience for them. So those priest are lying to the people and the people without reading the word of God they believe those men.

They make their own imagination gods.

Jesus was a Jew.. Now find a real jew and you will get a semi picture of what Jesus looked like. Jews had olive skin and I am sure his face was dark from being in the sun alot. Jesus aint white or black he is a Jew.

You are correct. On earth Jesus was Hebrew, olive skinned, brown eyes, a little bigger nose. In fact in Isaiah 53:3 it says we wasn't extraordinarily attractive. Make sense though. Jesus came in such a humble manner, not on golden chariots but on the back of donkey. It makes sence that God wouldn't make him Mr. GQ.
