I was taking this medication as prescribed by my dentist for a toothache, and am afraid it will give me "dirty" urine?

Yes HyrocodoneAPAP/7.5/500 (generic for Vicodin ES extra strength) will definitely show up in a urine drug test. All you need to do is make sure you have a letter from your dentist indicating that it was prescribed by him/her form medical reasons. And bring in the bottle containing the medicine too.

You want to make sure that you are taking it exactly as prescribed; not just taking 2-3 every hour when the prescription says to take 1- 2 tablets every 8 hours as needed for pain. The drug test will show not only that you have opiates in your system but the level or amount of opiates. As long the level in you system matches what should be expected based on the amount your DDS prescribes, there shouldn't be any problem.

If I sound like some kind of expert it is based solely on experience. I have a prescription for the same medicine for management of migraines. Just remember to get a note from your dentist.
