You hair needs to be cut with more layers before it will flip. If it is layered use a med. round brush with hair dryer and make 4 horizontal sect. across your head and round brush ea. sect. to flip. Use mousse it helps hold the flip. once you finish it use pomade to texturize and scrunhc slightly. Spray with hair spray and ENJOY!!!!!

the best thing to do for an easy fix. Take thinning shears and start from the left or the right and work your way around your whole head in sections going vertically. Grab the first section comb it out straight like a hairdresser does when she's cutting and cut between a half to a whole inch depending how long your hair really is. Do this with every section. Don't panic the shears only cut everyother strand of hair. What that does is takes the weight off the bottom to give you the flip look when styled properly. Good luck Also if your hair is cut in layers in the back it makes it easier to flip out rather than one length hair. Texture gives your look life. :)

Getting your hair razor cut at the ends may help. If you are not wanting or can't get a cut though, try using a medium-width barrel curling iron and roll your hair in an upward direction, but only at the ends. This should work. With the cut the layers will be there even if you curl it in one swope. Without the cut, to get layers of hair flipped up, you'll need to curl the outere layers up MORE than the under layers. Good luck with getting the look you want. :)

Try spraying hairspray on your hair before you curl it. The hair spray will help hold the flip. If you are not syling your hair, go to the salon and ask for a razo cut. Tell them you want the layers to flip out without you styling. If they know what they are doing, it should be an easy cut!

You can use rollers over night, it can be uncomfortable in the back...but you can push the hair from the back sections forward depending on how long it is. I think its the best way to keep your hair flipped up all day. Curling irons usually only flip your hair for a little while, unless you use major hairspray. Best of luck!

When your hair is damp, run some light mousse on the ends and use a round brush curling away from your face as you blowdry the ends.
While you can use a curling iron, the heat my dry out the ends after time which can lead to split ends. If you're gonna go that route, maybe use a heat activated shampoo (like Thermasilk) and mousse for extra protection for your hair.

I would first flat iron it, then with the flat iron or a real fat barrel curling iron flip it out. When you are done, put a sculpting mud (they are usually light weight) on it and it will help stay in place.
