Well...that's a big question.
One of the biggest tricks with Jesus is to figure out what HE actually said and what other folks just attributed to him. Most of the teachings of Jesus found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke are probably authentic and represent Jesus' original outlook on correct living within the scope of Jewish law. The words of Jesus in the gospel of John are probably not authentic. John presents Jesus as a completely different person with a completely different ministry. John's gospel was written later than the others, probably by a religious extremist and certainly not by the apostle John, a confidant of Jesus.
The rest of the New Testament contains letters, many of them by Paul, who some folks consider the actual founder of modern Christianity. Paul's inspiration comes from a vision he claims he saw of Jesus Christ. Paul never met the earthly Jesus. Paul claims Jesus called him to spread his message to the Gentiles (non-Jewish people). Paul has many philosophies about Jesus' identity and ministry that aren't necessarily traceable to Jesus himself, but they still could be part of Jesus (and God's plan), if you believe Paul. There are some letters by other writers in the New Testament, all which have dubious authorship. They are included in the Bible because the mesh well with the message of Paul (in general).
The Old Testament of the Bible is mostly Jewish history. It's divided into three main types of books: the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings. The books of Law contain rules for Jewish living, the Prophets contain stories about folks the Jews believed to be messengers of God, some of whom made predictions about the future, and the Writings contain wisdom and other inspirational Jewish stories. All these books have been collected over the ages, supposedly dating back to Moses, the number one hero in Hebrew history. Moses led the Hebrews out of slavery, and they eventually settled in the area of what is now Israel/Palestine.
So that's basically what's in the Bible. If you want to know what Jesus MOST LIKELY taught, read the first three gospels, especially the Gospel of Mark, which is thought to be the oldest and least embellished. Also check out the uncanonized Gospel of Thomas, which is a collection of Jesus' teachings supposedly compiled by the apostle Thomas. The Gospel of Thomas matches up pretty well with the stories in the first three gospels. If I were you, I'd ignore the Gospel of John. That's pretty problematic if you want to be a mainstream Christian, since most of mainstream Christianity is based on the claims found in John, but if you're on your own faith journey, I'd read John just so you can see how ridiculous it is when compared to the other more reliable gospels.
Good luck as you read.

Well thats the thing, if Jesus was just a regular guy how did he get these ideas. Jesus knew the old testament scriptures well and quoted them regularly. But not all his ideas came from the scriptures. What has made Jesus the most important human being in history is that his ideas were revolutionary, no one had ever had these kind ideas before. What else made him so unique were the miracles he preformed infront of thousands of people. He claimed he was son of God and backed up what he said with action. The people who wrote were witnesses to history and recorded it writing all these different books at different times. Some of the books like the book written by Paul were letters written to fellow believers, and other such as Psalms were praises or songs written down. Christians believe that all these books were inspired by God.

Jesus got his information from reading the Torah and Jewish law. He also prayed to God for all things. Some of these things would be wisdom, understanding, and guidance.
The people that wrote the bible tell you where they got the information. From living in the new church lifestyle, from God, and some even say this part is my own opinion, but I think I have the Spirit on this as well.
I'd appreciate if you really want to know the answer to this question to actually read the book. No matter what your beliefs, it is very interesting and will help you in life, even the atheist if in a trivial pursuit contest :)

If you think he was a regular guy, than he probably got the ideas himself. Maybe the way he was brought up, or influnce from friends, or maybe he was just a little looney to think himself the son of God.
However, believers like me, will tell you he got his ideas, so to speak, from God, he was fulfilling Gods plan and knew it probably all his life, as he really WAS the Son of God.
And the Bible was written by MANY diffrent men, all over a very long period of time. There were documents written over extended periods of time, by diffrent men, in diffrent places. The final Bible itself was compiled by a council. The books that were included were believed to be the inspired word of God by the council. They researched MANY documents, and some were not included, because they did not meet the requirments. History, the man who wrote it, the time period, whatever. It just wasnt thrown together, alot of time, thought and effort went in to making sure it had all the correct books. Also, the Bible, written over many years, by diffrent authors stays amaingly consistent and accurate, and regardless of what non-believers will say, absolotley never contridicts itself. How is that possible, many men from many walks of life, over many years, men who never knew on another, could put together a work, so profound, so accurate? That answer, is also God.

2Timothy 3:16 says that "All scripture is inspired of God" If you don't believe in God, there is no way to explain where Jesus got his information from, because he himself said he didn't do anything according to his own initiative, it all came from God. Also, he had been an Angel in Heaven for millions possibly billions of years before he became a human. The Bible calls him God's "master worker" he helped God to create humans. He was very knowledgeable.

Jesus had a brain and probably got his ideas from his experiences just like we do. However, he was in accordance with His Father, Our Father. He prayed to the Father and obeyed His will. The Bible are books, recorded histories of the past civilizations and their experiences with God, written for us as a witness to God and to know that JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

Stephanie Jesus was God's son. All that He is and was here on earth came from God the Father. There is the trinity which can be hard to understand. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit yet they are three in one. Think of it this way. You father is a son, he is your father and he has a spirit. Three in one. Jesus was God in the flesh that came to earth to live among us and experience all that we experience. He died to take away the sins of the world. Its called GRACE a gift to save us from our sins and like any gift we have to accept it in this case into our hearts.
His disciples were like you and me yet God through Jesus choose them to carry on His work and the spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth. It is devine intervention through the Holy Spirit that Jesus breathed into them to do God's will. The word of God is the inspired word from God to the world. I hope this helps may the Lord bless and keep you may He shine His light upon you now and forever. Blessings

19 Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing. For whatever things that One does, these things the Son also does in like manner.

GOD, his father spoke to him and directed him in what needed to be done. Plenty of scriptures in the Holy Bible proving this. Also, the Bible was wrote by followers and what they experienced and were taught.
