Yes!! I've had mine for 7 years and I love them very much. They do NOT stink, they are NOT dirty, and I probably wash my hair more often then most of the people who responded. I keep mine in good shape and retwist them every week so they dont get too frizzy. I get compliments on my hair all the time. I've noticed that most of the people who are saying bad things about locks are
1. White
2. Don't have locks
Maybe you should actually meet a person with locks before you come on the internet and badmouth them. Anyway, the summary of my answer is that yes, locks are a great hairstyle if you're willing to take care of them and keep them nice, and if u decide to get them some ignorant people will stereotype you, but you have to do what is true to your heart, and not live life worrying about what other people think

Anyone can wear 'dreads', especially if you just like 'the look'; but it is mainly out of function that many areas of the world actually use them. These areas are more dry, arid regions, and as such, have far less access to water. Part of the usefullness of dreadlocks is that you don't have to wash your hair 'everyday' or at least, as frequently as many people do in more developed areas. Because of the lack of water, this is also why (especially in the past) perfumes and scented oils were prized in these areas where water (and therefore bathing) were scarce. You may choose to continue to wash your hair often, there is nothing wrong with that. The main point is that it is not hurting others to have the hairstyle and YOU must enjoy how it looks on you, and you are happy with it...Have fun!

If they are done right they are hot. Don't like them on ladies as much but guys I have a weakness for dreadlocks. Pay the money and have them done profesionally they will look lots better and not dirty and nappy.

I think they're dirty, for today's society and the cleaniness that it entails. Think about it- dreadlocks are braids that you don't wash or take out for months on end plus you need to put hair lotion in to condition the scalp.

Noo..I personally think its pretty gross looking! People who have dreadlocks look scrubby! No Matter whos its on..A girl Or A guy! I dont no..Its just my opinion!

I like dreadlocks, but not everyone can pull it off. You have to be sure and keep them clean and maintained, when they get all tattered and dirty it's pretty unattractive.

Only on a few people. Lenny Kravitz was pretty hot when he had his. Even if they can achieve it, it's just not a good look for white people.

EEEEEWWWWW they are nassty dirty smelly buginfested, mess the only way to get thm out is to shave you head and you cant wash your hair did you know that Bob Mariley had 36 DIFFERENT kinds of lice in his hair when he died??????

I call it lazy, very unhygienic, and stinky!
The way you get dredlocks is by not washing your hair, letting it get dirty and oily and than taking hunks of it and twisting til it sticks together like glue!
