Regardless of which political party controls the house or senate.
The Republicans will run on 'stay the course' and the Democrats will be on all sides of the issue, but it doesn't matter.

Right after the elections, a planned withdrawl will commence. We have to get out, it's eating the guts of the Military which won't put up with it much longer. Soldiers on their third or fourth tours -- it can't be sustained.
The rest of the world is sick of our crap too -- But Bush is too dense to know that.

If we get out quickly, the Repukes can go into damage control mode to try and get the sheep to forget in time for '08 elections. Focus on other things, like denying *homosexuals* equal rights or proposing constitutional amendments to protect the flag. As gas rises to $5, $6 per gallon and beyond, less and less of the sheep will buy the crap Bush is putting out. Will it be fun to see Bush go down in defeat? Will the warmongers cry?

This will not end up like Vietnam, because in Vietnam we were fighting the North Vietnamese Army, w/ support from the Soviet Union, China, and the Viet Cong. The insurgency doesnt have near the Heart or Determination that the NVA had in Vietnam. They were bound by National Pride and Sovernity. The insuregents are mostly foreign and they are only bound by Religion which doesnt give you Brand New Mig 29s and AK101s. Without support from a Superpower they will eventually fall apart. We should be more worried about Japan saying they want to launch a premtive strike on North Korea which is part of an old Cold War Soviet realtionship

First - the Veterans have given you the right to say such completely unpatriotic crap about them. The Constitution did not have the power to keep Hitler & other countries out of our country.

The veterans should be an difficulty yet again no longer as undesirable. there is not any agent orange, no napalm etc. in this warfare. Economically speaking the veterans should be appeared after by the authorities. The decision is not any the position close to of the decision after Vietnam. 50.000 and extra lost, allot of POW injured and crippled and for this reason vets were a good purchase extra. Iraq is not any way close to bringing one of those heavy toll. Loyd Johnson in 1969 became maximum in all probability going to be reelected yet he not in any respect quite needed the warfare and resigned. Nixon became a Watergate scandal sufferer. previous to all this Kennedy became shot and did not stay to ascertain or be an element of the actually escalation of the Vietnam warfare. Thank goodness Bush continues to hold the line. If all the bleeding-heart democrats and leftists get their way, and force a pull out of Iraq, that WILL lead to another Vietnam. I dont know about the fate of the Republicans but I do know that this war in Iraq is becoming a stalemate and more and more US soldiers are getting killed everyday, even as I type. I dont know why the US went to war in the first place but its clear to me that it was all to do with a hidden agenda which wasnt WMD or Saddam having so called ties with Al-Qaeda. This is all a bunch of c**p and we all know it !. If the troops dont get out soon this will end up as another Vietnam!!.

your statements ring many truths, dont be surprised if oil reaches the highest point just before the elections, and suddenly the prices drop. You will see the Bush "plan". This will be the payback to Bush from the oil companies for the big profits the oil companies are enjoying. As for this "war on Terror" it is a war being fought with terror, as americans get more brainwashed about the terrors we face, bush and his crew build more hatred accross the globe, builng terror. I take issue with you saying the military lost the war in Vietnam. American soldiers won ever major engagement with Charlie. Tet of 1968 was said to be the turning point, and politically it was, but militarily speaking the VC got their asses wiped.

It was the American people, through their elected reps, that ended US involvement.

We were not defeated in Vietnam. We signed the Paris Peace accords in 1973 after we forced Hanoi to the barganing table through overwelming airpower. Next, No the Dems will not win. If they can't win Duke Cunninghams seat, they can't win anything.
