The Trinity is very dificult to understand for a non Christian.
from a True Christian web site let me cut-n-paste........
~~~~~~~~~`
A -- Indeed the word trinity is not in the Bible, but the indicators certainly are.
Look up Psalm 45, and Psalm 110. Both indicate THE GOD speaking to
"HIS OTHER".....also......The Trinity is indicated in 1 John 5:7 if you are using
a King James Bible (others have removed or altered same).
In the Old Testament see Isaiah 44:6 --- and His redeemer I am ---.
and Isaiah 45:11 --- And His maker --.
My favourite indicator is 1 Corinthians 15:28 ! At some point The Trinity will once
again unite because THEN there will be no need for The Trinity !
Water appears as a liquid, steam, and ice. All three are one.
A Clover leaf has three segments, it is but ONE clover.
In both situations above, three are one. Why can't THE GOD do the same?
The trinity is illogical and false. There is only ONE God, but according to the trinity, this god (with a small g) is split into three. God (with a large G) doesn't need to be split at all. He can do everything, there is no Father contingent upon the Son contingent upon the Holy Spirit. God is ONE.
On what bases this concept of trinity is build and what are its evidences as it is illogical. We are living in the 21 century and we have to respect knowledge based on evidence, don't say this is faith as we need evidence or logic, this is why God provided us with advanced thinking capabilities, otherwise we will be no different from other creatures. Trinity never been mentioned by Jesus it came later, Jesus was a human like others, eat, drink, sleep so how God died? Did he felt the pain? Why not to forgive without this silly play? Where are the values of justice and good deeds, if it is just simple easy belief in trinity and you are in heavens, so how people will be different? Isn’t it harsh to send people to hell just because they don’t admit trinity?
I am Christian, and I DO NOT believe that Jesus and God and the holy spirit is the same simply because it is not true. The word trinity doesn't even appear in the bible. But Consider:
-God has no begining, Jesus did. Jesus was God's 1st creation.
-Jesus tells us in the bible that God is higher than he is.
-Jesus says "all authority has been given me on heaven and on earth....". (Matt. 28:19,20)That would imply that someone HIGHER than he had to give it to him.
-The book of John says: "No one has seen the Almighty God at any time". People have seen Jesus during his ministry on earth.
-At John 17:3, Jesus calls his father "The only true God".
- The Bible says that Jesus is "the IMAGE of the invisible God"-
Col. 1:13-15
-At John 14:1, Jesus Christ said "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Exercise faith in God, exercise faith in me, ALSO." This is involving 2 people, not 1... He was telling his disciples to exercise faith in 2 people- Him and God.
-When Jesus got baptized, the scriptures say he "immediatley came up from the water, and look! the heavens were opened up...and God's spirit came upon him. Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said, 'This is my son, the beloved of whom I have approved." It's either Jesus had to be a darn good ventriloquist to be able to do that both or there was two people involved again.
-While on Earth, Jesus prayed numerous times to someone, "lifting his head up to the heavens". So, he HAD to be praying to someone. This also involves 2 seperate people.
**For all the people who said something along the lines of "we can't understand God or his bible fully": Of course you can. God gave us his word for a reason. It's a simple concept. I encourage you ALL to read and meditate on it, and you'll see how clear it's meaning is.
Not all christians believe in the trinity. The first person has that right :) A lot of christians are finally starting to see through that though, thank God. And you're right; he should be exhalted above all others and to say that Jesus is God is blasphemous!
We, the Christians believe that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is the Trinity.
The Trinity is One. We do not confess three Gods, but one God in three persons, the "consubstantial Trinity".
The divine persons do not share the one divinity among themselves but each of them is God whole and entire:
"The Father is that which the Son is, the Son that which the Father is, the Father and the Son that which the Holy Spirit is; by nature one God."
In the words of the Fourth Lateran Council (1215), "Each of the persons is that supreme reality, viz., the divine substance, essence or nature."
So, each of the persons is THAT supreme GOD.
The divine persons are really distinct from one another. "God is one but not solitary."
"Father", "Son", "Holy Spirit" are not simply names designating modalities of the divine being, for they are really distinct from one another:
"He is not the Father who is the Son, nor is the Son he who is the Father, nor is the Holy Spirit he who is the Father or the Son."
They are distinct from one another in their relations of origin: "It is the Father who generates, the Son who is begotten, and the Holy Spirit who proceeds."
The divine Unity is Triune.
Jesus command this baptized "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
That's how we know that God is Three persons. But all this because God chose to reveal Himself as three person. It is His choice but He is most powerful nevertheless and I am not going to limit what God can do for I am only a creature before his maker.
I think you need to understand our views of the Holy Trinity before you ask questions that already have answers. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all on person.
