According to the bible Genesis Chapter 4 verse 25, man didn't start worshiping god until Enosh was born. Did you know that Enosh is Hebrew for Humanity? So was Enosh the first Cro-Magnon man and Adam the first Neanderthal man? What do you think it means?

Also, what happened to Abel when he died?

Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, [i] saying, "God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him." 26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh.
At that time men began to call on [j] the name of the LORD.

Why is it that you can never get someone that is willing to read it, think about it and give an intellectual answer.

Cj, I believe your interpretation is very interesting. Surely, hominids did exist from archaeological evidence, and I believe you got something there. Maybe, Adam was the first man to believe in G-d but not worship Him as later on.

Adam walked and talked with God
Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God
Enosh was Adams grandson, calling on the name of the Lord was just a different way of talking to God than the walking with God in the cool of the day Adam did, or the negotiating with God Cain did to protect him from vigilanteeism for the killin of Abel

Cro Magnons and Neanderthals were just a brach of humans after the flood... see Did Man and Neaderthal Share a Common Gene Pool by Dewitt

It has been a tragedy that some people groups are considered sub human whether pigmies or aborigeneees... I understand ther eare stuffed aborigenees in the basement of the Smithsonian or at one time were and a Pygmy once on display at the Bronx Zoo in a cage

What happened to Abel? Abel went to be with God since his sacrifice was seen oto be accepted one would hope that Cain repented but there is no record of it

LIFO. Gen 4:26 '...then men began to call upon the name of the Lord.' They were using the name of the Lord in vain. Enoch's mission was to warn the Anti-diluvian world to turn from their sin, and to worship the God of creation, which they did not do, but instead they sought smooth sayings and easy words. This left them completely unprepared for Noah and the flood. Neanderthal, Cro-Magnum? We know that there were giants at that time. Perhaps the Neanderthal was a giant?

well what I think pertaining to the bible is that the first "thinking man" was Seth
Genesis 3:20 And the man calleth his wife's name Eve: for she hath been mother of all living.
that's because Adam wasn't aware of any other people outside of Eden
Genesis 4:26 "And to Seth, to him also a son hath been born, and he calleth his name Enos; then a beginning was made of preaching in the name of Jehovah."
I think it means the little family in Eden started to go out to other villages and towns to preach about "their" God.

Cain Buried Abel
11 and now, cursed 'art' thou from the ground, which hath opened her mouth to receive the blood of thy brother from thy hand; 12 when thou tillest the ground, it doth not add to give its strength to thee -- a wanderer, even a trembling one, thou art in the earth.'

other than the bible there had to be thinking people before that because the massive stone tower at Jericho dates back to 7500bce, scholars place the time-line for the story of Eden at 3941bce around the time that Egyptians were writing hieroglyphics, the bible never says when Moses sat down with pen and paper, but the Tabernacle and Ark of the Covenant were built around 1275, then the Jews had to drag it all over the desert for 40 years

I believe Adam was the first thinking man. He walked with God and spoke with Him. God had him name all the animals. That appears to be thinking.

The first thinking people had no first names and this occured millions of years ago. Nothing at all to do with the bible.

Don't question fiction. It is like me asking you, will Spook return and why did he die? Will Lt. Solo revenge Spook's death? Will Darth Vader return to eliminate this earth we live on? It is all fiction but just written by different people. Get out of your fantasy world.....
