It seems to me that no matter how much you sin, you are forgiven, if that is the case, then why even make moral judgments on people when we know they'll be forgiven. I don't believe it's that simple but i'm no pastor, priest, shiek or preacher, im just some dude. What's the deal with a priest going to see a man who is about to be executed and forgiving him of his sins, now this horrible person is going to heaven right? Well i see a lot of contradictions in all religions and everyone always tries to justify theirs by saying things like "Free Will", "All Forgiving", "He died for ours Sins", "It is your choice", "He does not control your life", well i don't know but it's a world of contradiction and the only God that speaks to people is $$$.

It is cool question.
First of all, sin is not on the auto Forgiveness mode.
God is not fool, you know, he also does not like to be mocked.
All Old Testament says " Do not b.s. with God!"
Many people think that they are saved just because the go to the church once upon a time.
You are saved when God rules your heart.
It means you invite Him in your heart and then "grow with Him"- learn obey His rules and follow His commands. It is lifelong process. Some Baby-Christians think " Why I should listen to the God, He will forgive me anyway". The answer is simple, you need to learn to live with God, learn his rules to inherit his kingdom.
The same When you were a baby, (hopefully) your parents taught you basic rules of this world - to wash your hands, take care of yourself etc. Then you learn more complicated things, more you understand this world.
If you sin but you don't know it, you will make "mistake" again and again until you understand what is problem, repent and change your behavior or die.
If you know it is sin what you are doing but you are doing it anyway, you will be punished in this life until you understand and repent from your heart.
You see contradictions where world of money clashes with world of God.
When Jesus was in the desert for 40 days, satan came to tempt him. Do you remember Jesus's answers?

Sin is part of people's daily life because they are born into sin.. meaning - when Adam and Eve sinned, the entire planned was cursed and all the people that would be born from them would sin. Jesus died on the cross to give people a second chance. Now we can choose to live under the curse of Adam, or be cleansed by the blood of Jesus and not sin anymore, and be free of the curse! Real Christians don't sin! Well, I don't mean they NEVER sin..but God will forgive them if they are truly sorry for their mistake! But if you sin once, then ask for forgiveness and go back and do it again..over and over...God can't accept you as His son or daughter! Read the Bible- it explains EVERYTHING!! If you really love someone then you will never do anything that will hurt them - right?? well, sin hurts GOD! so if you REALLY love Him with all your heart - them you are going to do your best not to hurt Him! :)

It is of the Catholic faith that a human can absolve you of your sins with out any actual consent or remorse from the sinner.

I was raised to believe that you are not forgiven of your sins if you intend to just do it again and have no remorse for the aborration upon your soul (sorry getting dramatic!).

Unfortunately, we are cursed as mortals and in having a free will it is almost impossible to live your daily life with out sinning! But the lesson is to realise that you are not perfect and to be aware of your actions and how they affect others. If you have knowledge of your actions and are actually trying to not act in a way that offends the sight of God, then you will be forgiven.

The point is feeling remorse and trying not to act that way again.

Unfortunately, religion or faith is a very confusing thing and you are best to try and work it out for yourself, as most people are wrong. Look at me, I may be completely wrong and end up burning in hell!! I think you can only go on what seems right to you. You will know.

The $$$ is not God speaking. Money is not in itself evil, but it is the root of all evil and sin. Everyone is born into sin, but it is our freedom of choice as to whether we actually sin or not. We all have the right to choose how we live our lives. Not everyone who dies goes to heaven. There are many who will never see that Kingdom. When the priest goes to see a person in prison, it's only to try to help that person repent for the sins he/she commited before it's too late.

b/cuz of adam & eve that's why.
see the 1st time we go to god to forgive us, yes. he will forgive us. 2nd time around we go to god to forgive us, for the same sin. it's under the law. if the same sin continues, no god doesn't keep forgiving us any longer. we're sinning intentionally, expecting god to continue forgiving the same sin right? well, guess what? it doesn't work that way at all.
you can't continue to go out & sin intentionally. why? because god knows our heart. if we ask for forgivness sincerely, he'll forgive. he knows what's in our hearts already. if we do something on purpose, then god will judge us by that. he knows u better then what u think.
we were all born into sin. there's nothing we can do to change it.
but, we have a choice to sin or not to sin. i choose not to sin. yes, we're not perfect & i understand that. i don't go out daily & sin intentionally & then go to god for forgiveness. god's a just god, he's a merciful god too. he is a forgiving god also. but like i said, he knows your heart, he knows your intentions too.
that's why people take god's mercy, grace, forgiveness for granted. but like i said, you'll be judged. just b/cuz u ask god to forgive u, doesn't mean that there isn't any reaping nor consequences to pay for bad decisions nor sin.
living here on earth, there will alwayz be sin. once we get into heaven, guess what? no more sin.....yyyiiiipppppppeeeeeeee

I believe that no single person can forgive you of your sins but God or Jesus. if YOU ask, then you are forgiving. If someone committed this ha-nus crime and is about to die and some person tells them they are forgiven and they did not ask for it, I don't think they are. The priest, preacher, whomever is just showing him/her the path, its up to the person to walk it!!!

It's complicated dude......but you got it wrong.
God will forgive anyone of anything.....but the key is you need to be genuinely Sorry for the sin you committed. I think there are those on death row who really are sorry, others are just scared .......I'd never judge any ones sincerity or at least I try not to.
It's good to question though or search for answers.....you'll find your answers

We are all human and human beings are imperfect - our souls are imperfect. We are all on the journey of life to perfect our souls, through trial and error. Some of us learn more quickly than others, some of us do not care to learn at all but until such time that all human souls are evolved, there will be sin (bad behavior)

Why make moral judgments on people? Don't.

Your job is to love.

God is in charge of the forgiveness department.

I do not believe in sin, therefore it is not a part of my life. Just yours and those riddled with god and guilt.
