Reliance on anyone *can* end with being let down. I'm thinking of all the people who died during the Tsunami - relying on God didn't help any of them.

You seem to prefer sharing your problems with your boyfriend, so keep with that for the time being. Just remember, a relationship is a partnership of equals - make sure you offer him as much support as he gives you. Also good to note, men tend to like to offer practical solutions, not just to sympathise.

At least if you have problems, your boyfriend might offer to help; I can't remember the last time God took my cat to the vet or changed a plug for me.

Overall, have the belief in yourself first, then you'll find everything it becomes a lot easier. For every problem, there is a solution.

You don't have to go to JUST your boyfriend or JUST God. You can rely on both. Pray AND talk to your boyfriend. Doing just one will do no good. If you only talk to your boyfriend you'll be cutting off God and the hard times will keep coming. If you only talk to God, your boyfriend will feel neglected and probably break up with you making you feel even worse during your hard time.

God places friends in our lives that he knows will be there for us. Some people say that best friends are angels sent by God, so you can look at it that way. In your most troubled times, you should always rely on God to get you through it and if that help comes in the form of a friend, then you know that he heard your call and sent someone to your rescue. Dont underestimate his power, trust in him and he will always provide for you.

IF HE BRINGS YOU TO IT, HE WILL GET YOU THROUGH IT!!

I rely on my parents in times of crises, when i need advice or help or if i need to talk. God is an amazingly strong pillar and you can always turn to Him, but remember that God acts through people most of the time and your parents [who gave you life, etc] come pretty close.

do not even compare such different things. think for yourself and you will find the answer was in your heart all-along. after all a human being is a human being. this is not to say friends, lovers, family, fellowmen, people are not important in our lives but you're talking about two different levels at the same time. and what is beyond this world will always be above. so even when it's from a human being that you get help, at the same time it is actually from God that you receive help.

God, he was there in the beginning and He will be there in the end. There is nothing God can't do for you.

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

God, of course, is the most reliable since He's obviously not human and is infinite. of course, its way easier to rely on someone you can see, but that person won't always be around; plus, they have finite knowledge of the world around them.

You have to learn to be able to rely upon yourself because otherwise you can be let down, badly.
