is this a medical condition? if so can it be helped? i tried closing my mouth, i do drink is that a reason

It's just they way you sleep. I do it sometime. Try sleeping more on your back or with your head raised. I don't think it's a 'condition'.

The drinking might cause a problem if you fall asleep without swallowing. When you open your mouth, it'll all pour out. :) Just kidding. It's not a medical problem, just about everyone does it. Dry mouth, which is the reverse of what you have, is a medical problem. To minimize the problem, try sleeping in an angled seated position, similar to sleeping in a recliner. Good Luck.
